Surah 2 (al-baqarah, the cow), verse 47:
"O Children of Israel! Remember My favour wherewith I favoured you and how I preferred you to (all) creatures."

I wonder about the meaning of this verse, in light of the fact that I've heard some complain about Jews claiming to be "chosen." Because this verse seems to agree they were chosen.

I have an issue with the fact that some religious people get offended like crazy when someone doesnt believe what they believe to be right. Such as, the Da Vinci Code put every Christian I know in a hysterical fit. They rant of blasphemy and picket lines. Ok, so, when someone differs of thier opinion, its wrong and they are deemed an evil atheist.....but if the church does things that an atheist doesnt like, do we hear a lot of hoopla and protests? Who is the more peaceful group? I thought that Christianity preaches of understanding of others. Let me have my opinion as you have yours..

Stephen Henry Roberts (1901-71) once said: "I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours."

It seems to me that god wants to take credit for all the good things that happen but doesn't take responsibility for all the bad things that happen. Just like T.O.

Hebrews 4:12 says, For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart

So wouldn't this mean we are made up of soul and spirit? Soul in this scripture is psuche (5590) and spirit is pneuma (4151). They are distinct from one another.

Wouldn't the conclusion be that we are made up of a soul, a spirit, and a body. Only God's word can separate the soul and spirit.

Soul (5590) is the breath of life. the seat of feelings, desires, affections, aversion. basically the mind and heart

Spirit (4151) being the disposition or influence which fills and governs the soul.

Have you studied this? What do you think?

Seems to me most of our problems come from the soul. With God's spirit in us then we can govern our own soul.

So first Adam and Eve pissed him off so he kicked them out of the Garden of Eden, and sent away their second born son, but still we sinned.

Then he wipes out most of humanity in a worldwide flood to wipe out sin, but that doesn't work.

Then he promotes the Isrealites to commit genocide to takeover "their" land, and then he and "his people" can finally live like he wants us to. That didn't work as much.

So then he gives us his only son Jesus, and basically says, just ask Jesus to let you in, I'm done....and he hasn't done anything since.

But wait God can't make mistakes, so giving us free will (which you cant really give someone, but let's pretend) wasn't a mistake then, it was on purpose, so why try so hard to eliminate those who choose to use their God given free will to par-tay?

I asked this before but didnt get many answers and for some dumb reason it got removed. So I'm asking again.

What's the problem with science that men and women of God(Jesus Christ) can see and understand;but for some odd reason scientist and supporters of science cant see and cant figure out?

Hebrews 11:1 is a clue.

Simple answer: the principles of math, chemistry, physics and medicine hold. If prayer worked you would see a huge abberance in nature. Tons of kids with cancer recovering at statistically amazing rates. But we do not. We would see huge proportions of people winning grand lottery prizes. We do not. We would see spontaneous regeneration of missing limbs on our war veterans. We do not. We see the exact amount of expected mathematical results. Why? Because prayer is superstition, just like believing a talisman will affect the laws of math and nature. 'Miracles' are cooincidences, as much as people want to deny it and blame it on magic. Have you not noticed this?

Why don't we blame the devil...?

If Jesus was attacked by the devil and evil demons, why do we not use this as a possibility for some of the evil in the world...

Does the devil exist and what are its powers ?

By the way the discovery of anti-truths, may prove that the story of Adam and Eve is true !!

I posted a question and has been removed be' of forum violation and when I confronted them it is not a violation and I reviewed the roles of the forum I didn't find something which point to my Q and I've written to them and they apollogized for that and they return my 10 points .

People say that God is angry or annoyed at us humans because of all the bad things we do, but he is the one who created us we never asked to be created and since he is all knowing he must of seen this situation coming so how can he be mad at us its his fault
