Because the Bible says Jesus is God's Son. Many people try and make some thing out of a few verses in the Bible that are mistranslated and misunderstood, but the teaching of the Bible is that the two, Jesus and his Father are simply that... Father and Son. Two separate individuals. Jesus is the reflection of God and shares God's purposes for mankind. He is the King of God's Kingdom.

Matthew 3:16 & 17: "After being baptized Jesus immediately came up from the water; and, look! the heavens were opened up, and he saw descending like a dove God’s spirit coming upon him. 17 Look! Also, there was a voice from the heavens that said: “This is my Son, the beloved, whom I have approved.”

How hard is that to understand...God himself saying THIS IS MY SON!

John 14:28b: "If YOU loved me, YOU would rejoice that I am going my way to the Father, because the Father is greater than I am."
Jesus prayed to his Father, God:
John 17:1: "Jesus spoke these things, and, raising his eyes to heaven, he said: “Father, the hour has come; glorify your son, that your son may glorify you,"

Luke 22:41-43 "And he himself drew away from them about a stone’s throw, and bent his knees and began to pray, 42 saying: “Father, if you wish, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, let, not my will, but yours take place.” 43 Then an angel from heaven appeared to him and strengthened him."

Matthew 24:36: "Concerning that day and hour nobody knows, neither the angels of the heavens nor the Son, but only the Father.
How could Jesus be God and not know the same things that God knows. If they were the same, all knowing God, then how could this be. Jesus doesn't know everything his Father knows because they are two separate individuals and Jesus is not God, but God's Son. That is what the Bible teaches, plain and simple, not some great mystery. Question things and back up Scripture with Scripture until you see that there is no condtradiction and everything falls into place perfectly! It does when the truth comes out. God didn't give us a mystery book, but a book that is full of God's truth, so that we might gain accurate knowledge of God, Jesus and what God requires.

John 17:3: "This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ. "

And as for the verse that says" I and my Father are one"...it also says at
John 17:11: "Also, I am no longer in the world, but they are in the world and I am coming to you. Holy Father, watch over them on account of your own name which you have given me, in order THAT THEY MAY BE ONE JUST AS WE ARE ONE."

But we know that doesn't mean that we are really one God, so why try and make other verses that mean the Father and Jesus are in union of thought and purpose, mean that they are the same person. That really is twisting things to make it fit! Look rather for the true meaning...Jesus is the Son of God. He was created by God. He died. Do you really think that God ever died even for a nano second of time? Not possible.

According to many passages, Jesus is the "son" of God, not the Almighty God himself. When Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist, God himself spoke from the heavens approving his son in front of many people. Another passage in the Bible mentions that no one...not even the son...but only the Father knows the day or time when the end will come. Sounds like two different entities to me. There are many more passages showing that these two are different beings, and not the same being.

jesus really only wanted to reform the jewish religion at the time, not start a new one. amazing how zealots can twist the intentions of their teachers!

Matthew 10:5-6
These twelve Jesus sent out with the following instructions: "Do not go among the Gentiles or enter any town of the Samaritans. Go rather to the lost sheep of Israel."

Matthew 15:24
"I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel."

Jesus is not god ....
he's just god prophet .... as all the other prophets .... ibrahim , joseph , mosa .... and mohamed
jesus is same like adam was created by god without a father ....
jesus never said he's god or god son ...
it's a great disbelief in god to think like that

He did. He answered that question, and he said that He and God are one. Also, he acted like a deity, he was perfect, wise, and performed miracles. Even nature, and demons obeyed him. He prophecied, and things happened. He rose from the dead, and brought others back to life. Those are just some of the things that proved he was, who he said he was. The son of God.

Jesus can't be God. Jesus (the man) existed. God never existed.

Oh, but He did! You just need to stop listening to so many doubting people. When are you going to read the New Testament yourself?
