Two nights ago, for work, I attended a Christmas Special. The choir sang a song that just moved me to tears. It was a typical carol they sang, but then it kinda' changed & they began singing differently, like it was for here...for now... for me. Suddenly it wasn't some distant & foreign occurrence, but it was almost real for a second.
I couldn't stop crying. What happened?

When will there be a female pope? I'm still waiting for the equal opportunity to be placed in religion.

--and submit to their husbands and whatnot...

Would those of you who complain so loudly about those verses being sexist and degrading be making the same complaints if they said that MEN were to remain silent in the church, and that MEN were to submit to their wives?

Be honest now.

Since you have a passion for reconciling verses in the Bible, please reconcile the genealogy of Jesus for me. (Matthew 1:1-16/Luke 3:23-28) In Matthew the father of Joseph is Jacob while in Luke it is Heli? Which one is right?

I see many questions directed to Christians in which they are asked if _they_ think gay people are born like that. That always strikes me as a bit funny.

It's like asking Norwegian people how it feels to be Chinese. Or like asking an Atheist what God looks like.

So, question to everybody: are you born with your own sexual preference?

I would like to see this question answered once and for all. Who is the one called Jesus, I do not just want to hear Christians I want a debate, a reasonable mature educated logical truthful Debate on the world wide web. Let the whole world see and read or hear the debate and upon the evidences decide just who Jesus really is.

I am looking for a church home for my family. We are looking for a smaller congregation where we can worship and serve the Lord but not get lost in the crowd. We are coming from Gary, Indiana . Where we are the members of the Jerusalem Baptist Church where Rev. Isaac Culver Jr. is my pastor and my brother.

It would seem that real miracles only existed in biblical fantasy land. I wonder why that is? That suddenly god decided Thats it, shows over nothing more to see here ever again for the rest of the existence of man. Why would he want people to stop believing......

Or is it that none of these things never actually happened & the only proof we have is a book written by man, who has always been known to grossly exaggerate everything throughout history (or lie and cover it up)

Not that it always works out the way we want it. But it all depends on so many factors through prayer, your heart, faith, sincerity, compassion, truth, will of God, God's timing, and his answer.

Why is it that the Abrahamic religions insist that there is something entirely, and awfully wrong with each human? In the Abrahmaic view, it is endorsing needing the full support of a deity, the deity doesn't assist, he does. How can an Abrahamic religious person accept responsibility for their actions, when all they need to do is state some external, supernatural force made them do it?

I've been developing g the conclusion of late, that maybe the Abrahamic faiths are exoterically an excuse for people to stop seeking themselves, and denying their responsibility to the world.

Could I get some feedback on this idea?

Summnation- By relying on an omnipoent being, one is shrugging of the fact that they have done something, good or bad.

A survey ("What the world thinks of God") showed that the majority of people (about 90%) believe in God, even in communist countries. The UK appears to be the most secular with only about 2/3 believing in God.

Did God put this knowledge of his existence in the hearts of all humans?

I was but I sure hope to stick to Christianity this time:

This is how my story goes.
As a child I was raised catholic but I deviated and had no clue once i moved into another town and became a hobby-drug user. After bad times fell, i went back into mass.
After that met some Protestant friends, than got into that.
Then after having been dissatisfied i turned to judaism. I had a meeting with a rabbi but that didn't go too far. I read many things about judaism, I also spent a great deal learning about Kabbalah, and I still dont know nadda. then i also began to have an interest in Buddhism, Yoga teachings, philosophy, Gnosticism, New Age, astrology, and more. never tried Islam for some reason but i want to learn their language. I think its safe to say am looking for my own code for life. But I really want to stick to Christianity but in a liberal kinda way cause i feel safer with it.
Any religious hoppers out there, or are you getting a feel for any religion?

Not bashing anyone for their beliefs here. Just curious. I had neighbors on my street who practiced that religion and I always wondered how they explain to their kids that they can not celebrate Christmas. All the homes in our neighboorhood would have lights, wreaths and yard displays except theirs and I always wondered how the kids dealt with that. And how do they deal with never celebrating birthdays? I would have been a sad kid if I couldn't get gifts on my birthday or Christmas while classmates and other kids around me got new toys and games. How do you explain it them?

So many people refuse the term God. But they Know they exist with an unknown cause. Maybe calling God CAUSE will make them understand better because most of them knows that there is a cause to everything.
