Premise one: God is all-knowing and good (a widely held belief).
Premise two: If God is all-knowing and good, there should be no evil in the world.
Premise three: But there IS evil in the world.
Conclusion: Therefore, God cannot be all-knowing and good.

I'd like to hear some thoughts on this.

According to religion in general, God created us to worship him. But then he gives no sign that he is real or not, or that he exists in our modern world. Have we grown beyond his control? Has he turned his back on us? Because it sure seems that way.

actually it's a very tiring activity. trying to provoke and be provoked. i mean, what's there to gain anyway?

aren't we supposed to seek our own path and not insist it upon others?

i'm just wondering actually, but i really would like to have your input about this matter. thank you.

that everyone's experience is completely subjective, negating any possibility of a fundamental truth?

In Genesis 10:5 it says "By these were the isles of the Gentiles divided in their lands; every one after his tongue, after their families, in their nations" and Genesis 11:1 says "And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech".

So how can 10:5 say when Noah's sons families be scattered and "everyone after their own language" yet in 11:1 it states there was one language on earth?

Is this not a contradiction in statements? How would you answer this logically?

I've faced so much discouragement in college this year, and went through so many personal battles with God involving personal purity and obedience and trust in Him... Now I'm at that place where I'm at home for break and simply feel sluggish and lazy, and I've missed doing Quiet Time for several weeks and have missed real prayer for a while too. I feel out of touch with God and with my brothers and sisters in Christ, and with myself and who God wants me to be... I'm ready to pick it back up.

The specific problems I've had (and please pray for me) are (1) involving purity issues with my Christian boyfriend. I'd like the strength for us to keep a Godly distance and away from temptation... This is something we failed at this year. We haven't had sex, but it's gone further than we wanted. and (2) I'm losing my ambitious drive to get passionate about God and my work... I just sit here so lazy and selfish... Please help... Any suggestions? Thanks so much and God bless you all...

After all, if you think about it, it's not really that much more far-fetched than any other religion. What with christians thinking lions and gazelles coexisted on the same big boat, Mormans believing that jesus was hanging out in present-day america, etc.. Scientology seems to fit fright in with this crowd, huh?

Different people have different reasons, but I wonder what's the main attraction of keeping faith in imaginary deities. I'd like to think that it's a manifestation of an inate longing for supreme justice, but I think it's primarily just a fear of death...what do YOU think?

Obviously, people have a hard time believing something could have existed without some reason for its creation, so what created God? Did He spend an eternity in darkness and just get lonely? Personally, this little issue seems to be the largest hole in any religion. It creates a paradox to which there is no end. Of course, this could also be applied to science's Big Bang Theory. What would cause that big bang? Once again, we prove that mankind's desire to explain that everything has a creator fails because it would go back an eternity and never have a true source.

And why do they refuse to back up their beliefs in their own words instead of quoting from the Bible? It would seem that when trying to "save" people who already don't believe the Bible, it would make more sense to actually explain things, not quote something the person doesn't even believe in.

Whenever you piss some Christian off here, they're always going, WELL, “Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints. (Ephesians 6:18)”

Yes. Thank you. Thou hast saveth my life-eth.
