Dear lil

To start with Jesus was Jewish. The word Jewish literally means decended from the line of Judah, a son of Jacob. Jesus was decended from the king of Israel named David. David was a decendant of Judah.

When the wise men were looking for Jesus they asked, "Where is the King of the Jews." (Matt.2:2)

All of Jesus disciples were also Jewish. In fact ALL Christians were Jews until Non Jewish people believed in Him. The early church had a problem. Because all the disciples were Jews, they felt that new converts needed to become Jewish, before they could become Christians. They had a big debate over this (See Acts 15.) They finally said that becoming a Jew was NOT necessary to become a Christian. Soon the number of Gentile believers was many times more than Jewish believers.

I hope this helps

Bryan
