I have known a family that made a cake for Jesus on Christmas & had a sign saying happy birthday Jesus. Don't you think we all should do this every Christmas to help keep it alive? I know they don't want the word Christmas being used, they are using holiday to replace it. We need to keep the true meaning of Christmas alive, what do you think?

I picked up a lovely bible at a yard sale and I would like to give it to my sister for Christmas. It is called "The Devotional Bible -- New Century Version" and is edited by Max Lucado.

Are any of you familiar with it, and would you recommend it? She is non-denominational, but a member of an extremely evangelical born-again church.

(I do *not* need to hear: "burn it, flush it," etc. -- I am an atheist but my opinion on the book itself is immaterial; it is a gift for someone for whom it would be useful.)

Any input would be appreciated!

it is a Born-Again Christian video game where you are fighting the antichrist in a spiritual and physical war. Basically, millions of Christians have been taken to heaven by God. There are millions of people left on Earth and you have been left to help convert the remaining people to Christianity. You can convert people or kill people that don't convert. Once you kill someone, you have to re-energize your "soul points" by bending down and praying.

How is this different than what we are fighting in the middle east? Is this teaching our children fundamentalist views? Is it OK to kill people that don't believe what you believe? Should I get my gun now to protect myself against Born-Again Christians?

I'm a programmer and I need to continue work on my video game where you are a coke addict. Basically, you have sex with prostitutes, rob banks, do drugs, and kill people for sport. I hope to have it finished soon. If the Christians can create evil games, so can I... Thoughts?

The activities of the people of earth are dominated by financial interests that have one common goal: make a huge profit regardless of cost to people who are not shareholders. The religions of the earth are, generally speaking, power bases for political figures and corporations. They are a fantastic cash cow as well for all sorts of nefarious or ill advised plans. Religion is not the cause of corruption in religion but instead it is the clergy and the rulers who use religion to manipulate the masses. True religion is pure, benevolent, merciful, charitable, apolitical, non-warring, in general a cause of no harm to the people and the cause of unity of humanity.

Adam and Eve is about how innocence is lost when ignorance is lost and a very beautiful story in my opinion but more so if it is interpreteted symbolically. Adam and Eve start out as two carefree humans who know nothing. They are children until one day they eat fruit from the Tree of Knowledge. They grow up like when children learn to be ashamed of their naked bodies. Anyone who is old can understand the more you know about people and the world, the more you will be hurt by it. Losing your childhood is learning despair as Adam and Eve are cast out of their sheltered world of frivolity. The reality of life is much suffering. The outside world of pain and misery that they never cared about is now their home. God represents life, and life is unfair.

Do you think it means something?

It even surprises the scientists.

I think it might mean that the big red dragon might have a copy cat of the virgin birth or Messiah.

Hypocrites are phonies, people who say the follow Christ but instead practice war, hate and murder. Where is it written that Christ said we should hate and murder our fellow man? Having read the Bible myself, I see that Jesus actually taught Love and Forgiveness. How can this be misinterpreted, "Love your neighbor as yourself"? or "Do good to those who hate you"? Would it not be more honest to call those who are Hypocrites what they are instead of labeling them Christian? A person who practices Hate is not a Christian! How can a person say one thing and do another and still be considered a Christian? Why would that person not rather be labeled a liar and denounced as a Hypocrite? How could anyone be so easily deceived?

My science teacher said that we evolve from some sort of a Ape , and something about the adaptation , survival , facing natures severity learning skills and love to the children has bring us to this stage. ( something like that , ) My friend told me that we are made from clay balls, and a priest told me that we are from Adam and eve, the world is made in six days.. I feel like its better to study the easy way. So I can just simply write the bible content to my science exam. The god is poerfull and he made the world in 6days . end of story!!! But . .
I want to be a science person to help the cancer researches or AIDS. what should I follow?

There are many things that I have faith in. I have faith that I will continue to breathe, that my body will continue to work and keep me alive without me thinking about it. I have faith that when I go to sleep that I will wake up in the morning. And I have faith in GOD but not in a GOD taught of in church but a GOD that I can feel within me and all around me, the “all” that is everything. That everything works in harmony because that energy that makes up everything is seeking to evolve and learn.

And that pure feeling of love is that energy and I believe that there is only heaven and no hell. I believe in reincarnation because it is just a continuation of the cycle of energy to constantly change. I believe in healing and that we are all connected. And I believe that here on earth everyone has a reason for what they do, whether it be from their childhood or otherwise and we judge that as good or evil. I think that everyone just tries to do the best they can with what they have available to them. And eventually when we “die” we judge ourselves and those who cant let go of their anger and hate are stuck and remain in this plain as ghosts. I also believe that there are guides all around us, from spirit animals to angels that help us and guide us everyday if we are willing to look for them. This is what I have faith in.

And I have gained that faith and belief through soul searching and going to church and from learning form very wise and spiritual individuals and I am not here to sway anyone to my beliefs. All I would like to know is what do you believe and why? And what has happened in your life for you to believe the way you do.
