i'd not tell your parents. i would wait until i went off to college, and visit different faiths, talk to the ministers there. hopefully they will be able to answer your questions.

Don't listen to what this guy 'free spirit' is saying. I learned at school this year about Nietzsche at Philosophy. He was just a man guided by his own mind. But can we trust our thinking knowing that we are imperfect?
Why did you start losing faith in God? You don't trust the church probably because you saw some wrong things about it. You are disappointed by many people. You see what's going on in this world and you're wondering why doesn't God do anything.
If you read from the Bible 1Corinthians you'll find the answer. "The god of this system of things has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, that the illumination of the glorious good news about the Christ, who is the image of God, might not shine through."

On an occasion when Jesus was "tempted by the Devil," Jesus did not question Satan's role as the ruler of this world. The Bible explains what happened: "The Devil took him along to an unusually high mountain, and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory, and he said to him: 'All these things I will give you if you fall down and do an act of worship to me.' Then Jesus said to him: 'Go away, Satan!'"—Matthew 4:1, 8-10.

Think about this. Satan tempted Jesus by offering him "all the kingdoms of the world." Yet, would Satan's offer have been a real temptation if Satan was not actually the ruler of these kingdoms? No, it would not. And note, Jesus did not deny that all these worldly governments were Satan's, which he would have done if Satan did not have power over them. So, then, Satan the Devil really is the unseen ruler of the world! The Bible, in fact, calls him "the god of this system of things." (2 Corinthians 4:4) Yet, how did such a wicked person ever come into this powerful position?

But God will do something about it very soon.
"And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." - Revelation 21:4
God really exists. The whole Universe tells that.
Have you marveled at the splendor of a brilliant, star-filled sky on a moonless night, seeing in it evidence of a Grand Maker? "The heavens are declaring the glory of God; and of the work of his hands the expanse is telling," exclaimed an ancient observer. "When I see your heavens, the works of your fingers, the moon and the stars that you have prepared," this man pondered, "what is mortal man that you keep him in mind, and the son of earthling man that you take care of him?"—Psalm 8:3,4; 19:1.

Pray to God from all your heart and he will surely help you. God bless you!

I have some data I would like you to look over and think about. It's not the Bible but science instead. It doesn't say a word about Christ. It's just evidence that God is real. Check it out and let me know what you think.... Jim

"Life in a Test-tube," appeared in 1953, the evolutionary community became very excited because they viewed the work of Stanley Miller and Harold Urey as scientific proof that life could have been formed from chemicals by random chance natural
processes. In that classic experiment, Miller and Urey combined a mixture of methane, ammonia, hydrogen, and water vapor and passed the mixture through an electric discharge to simulate lightning. At the end of the experiment, the products were found to contain a few amino acids. Since amino acids are the individual links of long chain polymers called proteins, and proteins are important in our bodies, newspapers quickly reported there was laboratory evidence that now proved life came from chemicals.
However the product was amino acids, which are normal everyday chemicals that do not "live." Even unto this day, there is no known process that has ever converted amino acids into a life form. Although two chemical molecules may appear to have the same elements and similar properties, they can still have different structures. When two molecules appear identical and their structures differ only by being mirror images of each other,
those molecules are said to have chirality. It is a scientifically verifiable fact that a random chance process, which forms a chiral product, can only be a 50/50 mixture of the two optical isomers. For a protein to be built all the polymers must be "left handed" It is impossible even with our knowledge of science to separate then Left and Right. While this is the condition of proteins, DNA require only Right handed polymers. Chirality is not just a major problem for evolution; it is a dilemma. According to
evolution, natural processes must explain everything over long periods of time. However, the process that forms chirality cannot be explained by natural science in any amount of time.

The problem you are having is that you haven't been taught to appreciate that God IS a real being. He has a name, personality, and other attributes that any person could come to appreciate if the really took the time to build a relationship with him. We are made in God's image... so qualities that we portray are also found in God ( Love, joy, peace, kindness, goodness, mildness, etc. )
The way that you come to an accurate knowledge of who God is, is by studying his word, the Bible, and talking to God in prayer. He can and does listen to your sincere prayers.
I can see how you would feel the way you do about your church. Unfortunately, almost every single church on earth teaches one thing but practices another. They do not live by or desire to live by the principles found in the bible and they don't teach their attendants to do the what God requires. They are hypocrites and will be held accountable for their behavior by God.
Do not blame God for the problems that we face in society. Look into what the Bible really teaches and see that it is inspired by God and very useful in all aspects of your life. Don't expect a "church" to do the research for you...

Oh sweetie, you've opened yourself up to all kinds of unkind answers and unhelpful responses.
I can tell you from personal life experience (I'm 43), that what you believe now won't be what you believe 20 years from now on so many levels.
It's okay to go through your crisis of faith and figure out what it is that you believe. I don't know what your relationship is with your parents, but if you have good communication with them, then by all means tell them how you're feeling. If you really believe that they will just make you go to church, then that isn't going to help at all.
You may want to try exploring some other faiths to see if anything fits for you. I'll post some links for you to explore. Perhaps you may find "God" or the "Great Spirit" or "Goddess" in some other form... or you may choose to believe that there is no such thing.
Just know that this time in your life is all about finding out about yourself and what fits you.. life is a learning process and there are many paths to your spiritual fulfillment.
Hug yourself for me.

First of all, it really depends on your age. If you are an adult, or nearly an adult, I would hope your parents would respect your concerns and doubts and could have an adult conversation about religion and God with you. You never know, your parents may have also gone through doubts of their own at some point. It is not uncommon for people to question their faith or religion. However, there is no way you are going to know for sure unless you actually educate yourself regarding your religion, and others if you would like to explore (due to disagreements you may have with your current religion). I went through a couple moments in my life when I wasn't sure or thought religion was completely unimportant. However, I studied hundreds of religions and actually discussed and learned from people of those religions, until I finally grew to understand what I believed and what seemed logical to me. There is definitely a God, and he understands us, and therefore understands the difficulties that we go through everyday and the doubts we have. He loves us and would like to help us, but we have to seek his help (sorry if that comes across a little preachy or cheesy) and do our own share to find truth. It is not necessarily about the "religion" but about what is being taught. Religions are merely a vehicle to guide us in the right direction, but they also can provide some wonderful support and opportunity to be of service to others. I wish you luck on your journey, which will last a lifetime.

It is time to make your faith your own and not your parents. Church is a good start. Perhaps you could look at another church if you can get there on your own. Look for a good bible study group to get into.

Work on getting to know God in a personal relationship rather than seeing Him as a "church". This will make all the difference.

Think about it this way then ~~~

When you are young and dont know where to turn to or who to talk to, listen to what good things your heart tells you. Because we all Live, we ALL learn,...but when we love the one who made it possible for us to breathe and to have a whole day as a gift, CALLED THE PRESENT, share your joy and love and kindness to others. Just keep your chin up and I'm sure there will be many prayers in advice form to help you... because there are truly people who do care for what we call brothers, sisters, and the family of God.

Dont worry, when we need the most help, the Lord will be right along with us carrying us when our burdens become too heavy.

Has anything happened to cause you to lose faith? Why are you beginning to question God's existence?

I have raised my 3 daughters in the Christian faith. Two of them are active in our church and one has no interest. I don't nag my daughter about her beliefs or ask her to come to church. I pray that God will change her heart and that in time she will come to believe. I think most Christian parents are very interested in the spiritual life of their kids, but ultimately each person has to choose for themselves. Good luck!

Honestly, get on your knees and ask God. Reach out to Him and renew your relationship with Him. Christianity is not about going to church. It is about the relationship with God and Christ. Church is just a place to get filled up. I personally love going to church but some people have learn much more by just spending time alone reading their Bible or just spending time with the Father alone.

I will pray for you sweet sister. Keep the faith. <><
