First, I don't believe there is such a thing as an ex-Christian. Just because someone says he/she is a Christian doesn't make it so. As some wit wisely put it, sitting in a church doesn't make you a Christian any more than sitting in a garage makes you an automobile.
Second, you don't need to look for Jesus...He isn't the One Who is lost. You are.
And finally, Christians take after their Father...they are not willing that anyone should perish, but that all should repent and live.

Is Jesus himself really the reason that atheists are atheists? Or is it the things that Christians have done in the name of Jesus?

Is Jesus the exact reason why you became atheist or was it the religious teachings that you find contradicting?
I almost...but thank God he found me. Like you I find the trinity teaching incomprehensible and funny; the hell torment, unloving; people who say they love Jesus but arent good, hypocrites.

They do not know what else to tell them. They found Jesus out of their need for a crutch. Some have a difficult time understanding that not everyone needs that crutch. haniels_host

They say they are Christians and then they walk out of church, they smoke, they swear, and they gossip. If THAT'S Christianity, why would they want it?? Who would?
