The Druid religion has a strong belief in a spiritual force beind nature. We're taught to honor and respect nature for the sake of that spiritual force. Once in a while I get comments from people wondering how I can be a Druid and eat meat too. As far as I've studied into my religion, there isn't anything about not being able to eat meat. So is it wrong for someone with such a high respect for nature to enjoy the occasional steak or pork chop? Maybe through honoring what that spiritual force behind nature provides for me, I'm able to honor the deer I hunt and cook every autumn.

Reginald Finger is an Evangelical Christian appointed to the CDC's Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices. He recently announced that he would consider opposing an HIV vaccine on the basis that it would encourage premarital sex.

Are we to respect Mr. Finger religious faith? What about the president who appointed him and the faith of the voters who put that president in power?

Most theist, especially those claiming to be "christian," claim that is was homosexuality when in fact "homosexuality" is not even mentioned anywhere in the Genesis 13 account As a matter of fact, you can read the sin of Sodom in Ezekiel:

" `Now this was the sin of your sister Sodom: She and her daughters were ARROGANT, OVEFED and UNCONCERNED; they DID NOT HELP the POOR and NEEDY. EZE 16:49

It appears that the people became self indulgent and did not care for the needs of others. Sounds a lot like most of us in this modern era. Thank God that Jesus was sent for our redemption.

I am a Catholic and am proud of my faith but I am disheartened when the Church is put down because of a few mistakes of Priests. Not all priests are like that. Catholic people like all other denominations make mistakes but we are all abused because of a few individuals.
Please dont blame us for their mistakes. We didn't tell them to do it!

My beloved and I talked about this yesterday, how diet and food can be made to take the place of controlling religion in basically secular peoples' lives. They feel "sinful" if they eat too much, "virtuous" if they don't. Foods are labeled "guilt-free" or "sinful." (We won't buy those just on principle.) They've been "bad" if they had a cookie too many. Etc., etc.

Does anyone else notice this?

Do you think some people just really need to be controlled, whether through religion or diet or something else?

Oh, and this article will make you think, too.

Allowing openly Gay people to serve in the Church goes against what the bible teaches. ( 1Corinthians unrepentant sin )

Not casting out known pedophiles

Covering up incidents that might make the Church look bad

Fraud

I mean they make Christians look like a bunch of hypocrits in my opinion what about you?

...who watches everything you do, every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a special list of ten things he does not want you to do. And if you do any of these ten things, he has a special place, full of fire and smoke and burning and torture and anguish, where he will send you to live and suffer and burn and choke and scream and cry forever and ever 'til the end of time! But He loves you?

p.s. Thanks George Carlin for asking this question originally.

In the last question I asked many answerers suggested that god had more important things to do than to answer the prayers of Junior High students. So is the universe getting out of hand for god? Do we need to get a new one? Is a no confidence vote is in order?

I gotta tell you, I don’t think god is going to get very good marks on his next performance review.

I am confused about this. If a person is tired or depressed and doesn't wish to pray for some time, he gets "minus" points or "Thunub" from Allah. And this supposedly makes him closer to hell.

Quran 52:24 SHAKIR: And round them shall go boys of theirs as if they were hidden pearls. http://cwis.usc.edu/dept/MSA/quran/052.qmt.ht

The above Islamic website lists many translations of this aya. Whats facinating is that the translator Picthal also uses "hidden pearls" to describe the boys, but the third translator uses "pearls well-guarded"!

So we have two translators agreeing on one phrase, and another using a modifier that tries to take away the disgusting sexual connotation.

Does Yusef Ali's translation make any sense...because if it doesntm, then it shows that Yusef recognized the blantent pedophilia in the aya and tried to play "allah" here.

Shakir and Picthal's sentences, as disgusting as they are, make sense as a thought. They simply describe what the boys look like as the move around. Now insert Yusef Ali's translation. He says that they are moving "around" but as "well guarded pearls"! What the heck is that? How do you move as a well guarded pearl?

Here's my question:
Where in the hell is this in the bible? "And yay god did say, yes, no or wait shall be thine answer!"?

I mean seriously, talk about interpreting the bible. This is so unbelievably arrogant. Get with the program. Millions of children starve, are raped, or killed every day. EVERY DAY!! And you are going to pray for a better job than the one you already have? Or even that your sick parent gets better? There is NO ANSWER TO PRAYER. Can you see this?
