The Catholic Church is nothing but Big Business these days. I refuse to give to the church. I give where I see fit, and how much I see fit.

I don't think of Churches as a "money making" operation.
I think most of the time they're just trying to break even. If you're part of a church community then it would make sense to support it. As it gives you activities, friends, and outreach which needs financial support (to hire people, to have events, to support charity)...which is why people give.
You can address whether or not the people who work at a Church are paid too much, but overall I think it's hard to have a non profit that aims on "plotting to get money from" people. It's voluntary and a free organization to be a part of.

Anymore yes.
I try to keep the spirituality it brings, but I don't buy into the propoganda the moderized religions insist on putting out.

its more then that is a self-delusion. Its a way to control people. Money is worth less then a person that will do what you say no matter what. People wanna believe in something religion exploits that.

It's called making a donation and many people give money to their church because they believe the church will donate it in a way that parallels their belief system. If they did not donate to their church, most likely they would make the same amount of donation somewhere else.

That's part of it. They give money because they are idiots. Such as giving money to the church in the collection, but then not having money to buy a needed item. God isn't going to buy food or other things one might need.

The megachurches may be that, but I think the Vatican people are true believers. That isn't to say they don't love their money.
TV preachers are totally in it for the money though.

You don't have to pay to believe. People give money because they are fortunate and want to share. Not because its mandatory.
