Quran 52:24 SHAKIR: And round them shall go boys of theirs as if they were hidden pearls. http://cwis.usc.edu/dept/MSA/quran/052.qmt.ht
The above Islamic website lists many translations of this aya. Whats facinating is that the translator Picthal also uses "hidden pearls" to describe the boys, but the third translator uses "pearls well-guarded"!
So we have two translators agreeing on one phrase, and another using a modifier that tries to take away the disgusting sexual connotation.
Does Yusef Ali's translation make any sense...because if it doesntm, then it shows that Yusef recognized the blantent pedophilia in the aya and tried to play "allah" here.
Shakir and Picthal's sentences, as disgusting as they are, make sense as a thought. They simply describe what the boys look like as the move around. Now insert Yusef Ali's translation. He says that they are moving "around" but as "well guarded pearls"! What the heck is that? How do you move as a well guarded pearl?

I wonder if Yusef Ali is still a Muslim.
ROOM QUESTION: Have you ever heard someone refer to your son as looking like a "pearl"? Can you think of a more pedophilic term?
