Please take my 'do you doeserve to go to heaven ?' test.
Do you think you are a good person?
Have you keep the 'Golden Rule' or in essence the ten commandments?.
This is Gods law and his standard, can you measure up?
If so how many have you kept ? ,lets try a few,
Have you ever told a lie? I,m gonna guess you said yes to this one, every one has told a lie at some point in there lives.
What would that make you , a liar ,right?
Have you ever stolen anything even something small ?
I'm gonna guess yes to this one also, every one I know has stolen something at some point in their lives, I know I have.
What would that make you , and me?
a thief,right?
So by your own admission (if you are being honest with yourself ) you are a thieving liar. Now before you say that if you steel once it doesn't really make you a thief, then ask yourself this, how many times must a man rape to be known as a rapist.
So if you were to die right now ,as that thieving liar and what ever else you may be, and were judged by God(assuming you don't believe he exists, just imagine for a second )
would you be found innocence or guilty.Would you deserve heaven or hell?
I know myself that I should be found guilty.
It is because we are all guilty that we deserve hell ,
but God is not willing that any should perish,he does not want this to be any ones fate,so what did he do?
That is why he sent Jesus. When Jesus died he took the punishment we deserve for the wrong things we do.
The bible says that it is, a free gift of God ,not of works ,so that no man may boast. this means that good works are not going to get you to heaven, that God offers you this gift of not haveing to pay for your sin, if you simply admit to him you are a sinner , ask for his forgivness and tell him that you want the free gift of salvation he is offering. It is as simple as that.
Some people are going to read this and laugh and say ' there goes another Bible basher trying to 'save' us all'
But how do you know the Bible unless you read it, nowhere in the Bible does it say, that if you be good you can get to heaven.
And if everyone is being honest ,and if they are going to be judged as guilty then they do indead need to be saved.
The Bible says that there is' no name under heaven(Jesus' name) , given to men, by which you must be saved'

I do mean to tell you that there is an almighty God who refers to himself as male (most of the time) though he himself is far beyond gender. He is usually invisible for our benefit, because the awesomeness of seeing him would be fatal, though he has appeared in different forms to several. Many say he is in the sky because the truth that he exists everywhere at the same time is difficult to grasp. He sees everything; whether he watches like a concerned parent or simply knows everything by his nature and can't help it, I can't say. The old law consists of many more commandments than just the famous 10, over 600 in fact, though the new law sums it up succinctly by saying "Love your brother". As for sending the sinful to hell, no matter how horrible they may be, I continue having trouble with that. I don't understand why he would do that, but I trust him. He knows everything. I do not. If I say "You think there should be a hell, but I don't, so get rid of it" I claim to know better than God. I must concede he is a bit smarter than I.

Nice one! At last, someone dealing with religion on Yahoo Answers is quoting from a source NOT written by a misogynistic iron age holy man with a vitamin deficiency, a napoleon complex, sexual neuroses and paranoid delusions.

Yes it is all true,. I know this because he wrote a very old book- well, TWO books actually- called the Koran and the Bible. But he works in mysterious ways, so he made sure we couldn't understand the books. fortunately some prieists etc are able to tell us what these old books mean. Also the bible can prophesy the future! amazing eh!

That does seem to be the Christian philosophy.
Next time you feel like someone is watching you, moon the sky.

He's not living in the sky, he's living in the heart of every believer and I for one think He's the best thing that's happened to my life. As for sending people to Hell (and Hell is just a final separation from God forever), people have a choice to believe, if they choose not to, they send themselves.

Actually, He is standing in front of you. There is only 1 item on the list. Blowing it. You decide where you want to go, not Him. DEVO said it great....."Use your freedom of choice..."

You've got me laughing again! The funniest part is when the happy-clapping god-botherers try to defend their beliefs. They make it sound even more ridiculous!!!
