Quick question for every and anyone. By the definition of science, science must show 100% truth in any of it’s theories before anyone can consider it an actual fact. By definition religion is not hindered by this. Science is held to a higher standard in terms of truth than religion is, would it be safe to say that it is never really fair to compare the two? In an argument about the true nature of things science pretty much has one hand tied behind its back, when religion does not. Science needs proof, where as religion just needs faith, and faith needs no facts to exist, just people to believe in it. Do you think this is a fair assessment on the subject?

I saw this story which seems a little silly to me:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20061127/ap_on_re_us/anti_peace_sign

Some people in the story are saying that the peace sign it a satanic symbol. I've never heard of this.

About the wreath; I doubt anyone who conceived of the idea to create it, designed it, manufactured it, sold it, bought it, or displayed it did so to promote satan.

If I were a religious person in the USA where religious speech is protected, I might hesitate to use that argument since I would expect the same laws that protect the free speech of religious proponents to also protect this symbol.

Maybe I'm jaded, but it seems that some of the supporters of the current war may be looking for an excuse to remove an innocent expression of "goodwill on earth and peace to man".

Please don't say creating planets from nothingness.

I hear a lot of modern people say that they think judgement day will be coming in the near future. They say that there will be a lot of war and strife soon and God will judge humanity and solve all our problems. This troubles me because I think that people (especially our politicians) may expect war and suffering so much that they end up causing it. I also think that since people (again some politicians) expect the end of the world as we know it, they may not plan for the future by taking care of the environment. Any thoughts on this?

I have a little wine once in awhile in moderation with my dinner and why should some people in our churches have to worry to much about us having a little wine at home with our dinner?I don't go to bar or a night club.

I haven't started any crap of late and thought that I would try to get some liberial communist cry babies typing emails to THE MAN because I'm not politically correct. My question is 'Why do liberial commie babies want anything to do with God unless it is behind closed doors?" Our country was founded by very religious people, but there are some that want Christmas to be about a Gay or multi colored Santa. We all know God is not of color, we all know we all are different in tastes but do we have to make it all know that we're different?? I don't know about you but I liked it when we did the manager sene in third grade in front of the parents in school. Now, they sing about Gay looking or multi-colored Santa's. What's your opinion about Christmas? Should we keep it under the wraps??

I recently started a new church and for the most part I really like it. However, I've been to a few gatherings at member's houses and they are very wealthy. These are 1 to 2 million dollar homes easily, and where I live that is massive. I know I shouldn't care and I should be happy for them, but when I hear them say "the Lord has really blessed us", I shudder. It just seems unnatural to imply God has given them wealth and others in the church are "not as blessed" for some reason. I feel badly that I feel that way. I know for a fact that the pastors (there are 3) do NOT have large homes. We know their salaries and know where they live. I know the stories of wealth in the Bible so don't preach to me about King Solomon and all that. Honestly I really don't want their houses, I'm content with my humble abode. I just hope they are doing some serious tithing! What do you think? Is it OK to be Christian and have so much showy opulance?

Let's say, for example, a lady has just found out that her child's school bus has been into an accident. Some students got killed, but her child survived and was perfectly okay. Is it wrong for her to say, "Thank God my child wasn't killed!"? Does that sound kind of selfish or offensive for her to say? How do you think God feels about stuff like that?

I have read a lot of Christians on here saying that Jesus' only rule was about loving your neighbour and what not. Isn't that a little vague? Do you think that leaves a little too much room for interpretation?

Should religious rules be better defined?

Okay.... My question is: Does the worship of Jesus vary among the sects of christianity? I hear the son of God, I hear the father and son are one (the same being) I hear the father the son and the holy spirit are all the same being, I hear that Jesus is God in the flesh, here on earth to experience human suffering. Does it just vary from sect to sect or am I missing something?
