Second Coming of Christ:
The second coming of Christ is the blessed hope of the church, the grand climax of the gospel. The Saviour's coming will be literal, personal, visible, and worldwide. When He returns, the righteous dead will be resurrected, and together with the righteous living will be glorified and taken to heaven, but the unrighteous will die. The almost complete fulfillment of most lines of prophecy, together with the present condition of the world, indicates that Christ's coming is imminent. The time of that event has not been revealed, and we are therefore exhorted to be ready at all times. (Titus 2:13; Heb. 9:28; John 14:1-3; Acts 1:9-11; Matt. 24:14; Rev. 1:7; Matt. 24:43, 44; 1 Thess. 4:13-18; 1 Cor. 15:51-54; 2 Thess. 1:7-10; 2:8; Rev. 14:14-20; 19:11-21; Matt. 24; Mark 13; Luke 21; 2 Tim. 3:1-5; 1 Thess. 5:1-6.)

Jesus said that no man knows the hour or the day of His coming, but the Bible gives many signs as to how close to the end of this age we are getting. Numerous prophecies in the Bible would've been impossible to understand at the time they were written, and even ridiculous. Many of those same prophecies would not have been able to take place until our modern era. A one world monetary system and a one world government would've been impossible when Revelations and Daniel -among other Biblical books- were written. Now we have the ability to cause fulfilment of these prophecies, and numerous others, through our modern technology and organizations like the UN. If you read 2 Peter 4:10-12 you will see an undeniable, vivid description of a nuclear collapse. This was written before AD 90; in other words, long before the splitting of the atom and the invention of nuclear weapons. Long before we knew anything at all about nuclear physics. Most people refuse to believe the Bible, especially its prophecies, and therefore I doubt these prophecies have any bearing on their actions. Wars are started because of greed and hatred. Humans don't take care of the environment because they refuse to obey God's command to take care of creation and because of sin and pride. I have noticed, as will you, that a majority of people deny that the Lord will return at all.

Jesus told his followers repeatedly to "watch and pray", that His second coming may be at any time. No man knows the day or the hour. Wars and rumors of wars were not to taken as "signs" at all. We are to be prepared today and not look for weird or bad things happening around us.
I think you are right and history bears witness that some well-meaning zealots have hastened their own destruction and created more problems for mankind by thinking that somehow they could help the Lord and begin Armageddon without him....
True believers are honest, loving, compassionate to man and beast, willing to help heal and not destroy, etc. That's not to say that Christians all have to be tree-huggers... but it never hurts to have a sprinkling of all radicals to keep everything in balance....
god bless!!

When God finally told Noah that the flood was coming in just 7 days more, did the people repent? After that Jehovah said to Noah: “Go, you and all your household, into the ark, because you are the one I have seen to be righteous before me among this generation. For in just seven days more I am making it rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and I will wipe every existing thing that I have made off the surface of the ground.” Deathbed repentance and repenting just because one knows the end is near and does not want to be destroyed is not acceptable to God. Notice how the apostle Paul put it. "I went bringing the message that they should repent and turn to God by doing works that befit repentance." Acts 26:19 And James said: "YOU see that a man is to be declared righteous by works, and not by faith alone. In the same manner was not also Ra′hab the harlot declared righteous by works, after she had received the messengers hospitably and sent them out by another way? Indeed, as the body without spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead." James 2:24-26

I hope that the end is here soon. All I can tell you is that there is alot of indication that it is. However, we can not control what others do. All we can do is our best of what ever the Lord has asked of us. He is in control and the politicians can not mess up God's plan. He does not want us to worry of things that we are not asked to do. It will be His way anyway.
Thanks for the question.

Please Read the following then conclude after wards.
2 Timothy 3:1-17
1 But know this, that in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here. 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, self-assuming, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal, 3 having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness, 4 betrayers, headstrong, puffed up [with pride], lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godly devotion but proving false to its power; and from these turn away.
-------
Matthew 24
3 While he was sitting upon the Mount of Olives, the disciples approached him privately, saying: “Tell us, When will these things be, and what will be the sign of your presence and of the conclusion of the system of things?”
4 And in answer Jesus said to them: “Look out that nobody misleads YOU; 5 for many will come on the basis of my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will mislead many. 6 YOU are going to hear of wars and reports of wars; see that YOU are not terrified. For these things must take place, but the end is not yet.
7 “For nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be food shortages and earthquakes in one place after another. 8 All these things are a beginning of pangs of distress.
9 “Then people will deliver YOU up to tribulation and will kill YOU, and YOU will be objects of hatred by all the nations on account of my name. 10 Then, also, many will be stumbled and will betray one another and will hate one another. 11 And many false prophets will arise and mislead many; 12 and because of the increasing of lawlessness the love of the greater number will cool off. 13 But he that has endured to the end is the one that will be saved. 14 And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come.
-----
Yes, there is truth to what you said about politicians causing the war....

These are valid thoughts, possibly true.
I believe that we shall see judgment day and we are to live as if it is coming any second...
I personally think it will happen within the next twenty five years, on the acceptable year of the Lord, or the Jubilee...
Soon my friend, very soon.
