There is only one true Christianity, the one that worships God in entirity and beliefs in His full infallible word, and takes time to study it and know it, and know what God says, and to obey it.
There are so many different groups calling themselves Christians. For you to be a true Christian, you must first believe in Jesus. He is the reason for the faith. He is the reason we are saved.
But, ppl because of human nature hear something they dont like and they try to make the Bible fit what they want it to say. So, within all churches, you find ppl doing this, and all kinds of beliefs are going on. But, no scripture if of private interpreation. God says that. Its not what you or I think, Its what God thinks. We can only know that by staying in study and prayer. to love God enough to obey Him.
On this issue of who is God and who is not, it varies so many ways, but not in scripture, not if you study it ALL.
There are three in the Godhead, a triune God. 1John 5:7 says the three operate as one. This is the triune Godhead. No trinity isnt in the bible, the word itself. But, the words to describe it are. Titus 2:13 says Jesus is great God and saviour. Acts 5:3-4 says if we lie to the Holy Spirit, we lie to God. 1 Tim 3:16 says Jesus is God in the flesh and made to preach....
so much moreon all of this. Takes time to study and pray and continue studying and praying. But, its the only way we know what God wants for us. God is the father, Jesus is referred to as His son, and the Holy Spirit is the one that leads to conviction. He puts things into action.
All three operate as one, and we are to worship all three as one, and noone else. Its like the Godhead is the Title.....
takes much study to get thru all of this. I pray you will do this for yourself. Jesus came to die for all of our sins that we may be saved. Yet, most mock him and hate Him, and are still tryiing to crucify Him even more today. He did suffer for us and He died for us. What more do the ppl need?
and you will also find that just because a person or a church uses the term Christian, does not mean they are. I have met ppl using the word Christians that dont even believe in Jesus at all. and clearly state that Jesus is not God. Christians are Jesus followers. so if you dont follow Jesus, how can you claim the title of Christians. Just be leery of who tells you they are Christians. God says by their fruits(actions) you will know them. Do they follow Jesus, do they love Him , do they obey???? These are the things that will tell you if someone is christian or not. If you know the Bible, you can spot a true Christian a long way away, because they are about God and love, and unity of the faith and in the truth. We can be united, but if its not truth, its not Gods unity. Study and pray. and soon you will see it so clearly. Doesnt even take long, but takes dedication and persevernece... And worth every bit of time you give to it. Press on with the Lord.

99% of those who call themselves Christian believe the same thing. The BASIC believes of the whole church were decided upon in the first few centuries after the time of Jesus.
God is one god with 3 aspects. These are the Father(Creator), Son(Redeemer) and Holy Spirit(Sustainer). This means that the Father,Son,Spirit are all the same. Jesus, the Son, is the part that became human. Jesus was fully God, and fully man.
There is a disagreement between the Eastern Church and the Western in the way in which the Holy Spirit proceeds. One says that is comes from the Father through the Son and the other says that it comes from the Son.
Hope this helps.

There are differences b/c the differences depend on what person created them. Jesus did not ask to be worshiped in the way he is worshiped today (in my opinion, no offense intended). If you really study history you will see how Christianity has changed over the past 2 thousand years. It wasn't always accepted by all Christians that Jesus was the son of God. Some just believed he was a prophet, but they still believed in him. Monks, scholars, and priests argued about how they thought Jesus should be worshiped and they have different conclusions, which led to slight differences in the sects of Christianity. The more you research Christianity, the more you will also see how it is GREATLY influenced by old pagan religions. Ever wonder why Sunday is the day of worship, when the bible clearly says it should be Saturday? It is because it was merged with the worship of a pagan "Sun" (hence Sunday) god. Also, the date of Christmas is not Jesus birthday, it is the day originally celebrating a Pagan holiday, which was merged with Christianity. Also, ever wonder what all the X-mas traditions are about? The tree, the bulbs, etc. They are all former Pagan traditions that were merged with Christianity. To make a long answer short - I think it is that way b/c Christianity has been changed by man, and man has different opinions on it, so it leads to different ways to worship.

It can. Most Christian sects state that God the Father, God the Son (Jesus) and God the Holy Spirit are three aspects of the same being. The Incarnation (flesh or body) of God is Jesus the Christ.
Some sects however, do not accept the Trinity concept. They either state Jesus is God's Son but not another aspect of the same being (Unitarian) or not divine at all (Jehovah's Witness)

Yes, the worship varies. Some believe that God, Christ, and the Holy Spirit are all one person with three appearances. Others believe they are three separate and individual beings. Some think God has a body, some think He is a spirit. Some pray to Mary and saints and Christ and God. Others pray to God only. Some think Christ was a wonderful man, but no more than that, while others say he was the literal Son of God, and a god in his own right. You'll hear all kinds of twisted things and every church will claim the others are wrong. Enjoy the roller coaster ride.

Understanding of Jesus is the same. Everything you mentioned applies except 1 detail: Jesus came to earth to die for the sins of humanity and ransom us back to God, and experienced humans suffering because of this. Worship varies from very formal to very informal through different sects. Im not one for sung masses or anything, but personally I belive there should be more respect than some of the sects have...but thats just my opinion.
Hope this clarifles things.

Jesus was a man who called God (the Father) his Father. He was the son of Mary (the supposed virgin). He claimed to be God himself at least once. John 18:5-9 in that group of verses Jesus says "I am (he)." In the King James version the word "he" was added (and italicized to denote it as an added word for linguistic clarity) but in the more original Greek it is simply "I am." Which, if you recall, is exactly what God the Father told Moses to call Him. It is an emphatic statement, I am that I am, or I exist because I exist. Now this name was so powerful that the Jews wouldn't even write it down all the way! They left off all the vowel markers. But they did know how to pronounce it. And that is exactly what Jesus said when the guards came looking for him. He quoted God and called himself by God's name. Further proof of this is in the fact that everyone fell to the ground twice, as though expecting God to strike Jesus with a lightening bolt, or just believing that, in fact, God had spoken. It's all very interesting. Now then, read John chapter 1 and you'll see Jesus again referred to as being God Himself. I believe that if you claim to be a Christian you need to believe that Jesus was God the Father Himself. No variation on that.

Having been raised in a Protestant family and then marrying into a Catholic family my education in comparative religion is only through experience. Having asked the same question myself however I have come across some differences while studying and talking to people of other Christian faiths. Here is what I have learned (and hopefully understood correctly).
Most Christian based faiths DO believe in the trinity (Father, Son, Holy Spirit as one being) and that Jesus was God made flesh in order to sacrifice himself for us. But some Christian religions such as the Jehovas Witnesses believe that Jesus was the son of God not God himself or any aspect of Him. Mormons on the other hand believe Jesus to be a prophet only just as the founder of their church. Now, I may have that wrong, and if any mormons read this please feel free to educate us both =)
But basically the answer to your question is YES there are some differences of belief out there. But I dare you to go to any single religion and find 2 people who believe exactly the same way about every single tenent of thier religion.
Spirituality, like any other human experience is highly personalized and shaped by the life, faith, and emotional capacity of the person involved in it. Religion is only a path one chooses in order to express one's spirituality and faith. I hope this makes sense. Anyway, good luck and blessings to you.

It's all the same thing. Christianity is a relationship with Jesus Christ. Try not to think about it as a sect of a religion. The Bible describes God just as you described it, in each of those ways.

It can simply be cleared up by reading the Bible.
Jesus is the Son of God.
God the Father deserves our worship.
The Holy Spirit is the power of God and not a separate being.
The Bible should be your only source of information about God. Beware of ministers, sects, churches that tell you things that cannot be proven from the Bible.
