Do you prefer to live in darkness?

(I always thought this to be the friendliest religious question ever, and even this one sounds creepy as hell)

Don't worry about the language of religion - or get too creeped out on "words". The fact is that Jesus Christ died so you could live! Read the book of Matthew. IThe 18 inches that most often separate us from God are the 18" from your head to your heart!
Don't give up yet, okay? He's there for you and don't worry about the language.

Yes, you are right. Its called people are getting more and more extreme in their own religion and own way of life. So everyone else is wrong and will burn in hell, this is accordding to all the fools out there. Grab a helmet and a flak jacket and get ready to duck, cover, and run from all of these fulls. Cause soon they will all be shooting at everyone.

We appear to heading towards a very intolerant age where everyone thinks that God has personally come down and given them the right answer and that everyone else is wrong. This movement shows signs of collapsing in on itself a number of Christians disgusted with the far right start heading to the center again. Every now and then I also see signs that its getting worse and this is deeply disturbing to me.

I think at some point, most people take a few steps back from religion and just observe it. If you don't like what you see, it might be time to reexamine what you want from your beliefs.

Best of luck

Who is moving further and what language are you talking about?
I guess I need more details to the question before I can answer.

Well, when one quotes from writings from a time when most people couldn't write, and the lang was more symbolic (and usually more about death and how you were going to die)... I'd say it's just creepy that anyone uses that type of lang anyway.

I think it can be really creepy. I was raised Catholic, and never once was it even suggested to me that I read the Bible by anyone--not even at the Catholic school I attended. As an adult, I decided to check it out. I was absolutely horrified by the things I read in there! I never saw so much treachery, killing, general evil as I did in that book. If anything, that turned me off to religion.

Not sure, but mainstream society is pretty creepy too. OJ, book, tv interview? Even though some were cancelled, the fact that they were even a consideration is scary!

no it is not you to think that religion is getting creepier, there is nothing creepie about religion, but you must ask yourself, where did i come to a conclusion that religion is creepie? if you look deep inside your self , you will probably find your thinking is the product of sociaties thoughts......... and , the ideas you now harbor are not yours

I don't think the language of religion has changed, or at least much, for a long time, especially the religions that have been around for 100+ years. I would guess you are getting further from religion.
