He gave the clergy the freedom to define it. And that was not a terrific way of going about things, I think.
Seeing as how the clergy is obviously not perfect, and is rife with hypocrisy, greed, pedophelia, etc, a person like myself has a hard time believing that they speak for any god. (Most especially one that I would choose to worship and/or love)

They are better defined. Try the 10 commandments as found in Exodus 20. What Jesus Did was simplfy the commandments. The first commandments deal with how you are to treat God. As sumed up by Jesus ; "You are to Love the Lord you God with all of your heart, mind and soul." The rest of the commandments are based upon how we are to treat others. We wouldnt steal, lie, or kill ourselves. Then we shouldnt do it to anyone else. The basis for his statement was based on the 10 commandments. The key point is that No one can keep the 10 commandments. When is the last time you told a lie? No matter how big or how small. What does that make you when you tell a lie? When is the last time you stole something, again no matter how big or small? What does that make you when you steal something? When is the last time you committed adultery in your heart? We are talking as little as looking at someone with lust in your heart. Breaking of these commandments makes you guilty before a Holy and Righteous God.
God created the laws of what He expects us to line up with not man.

HELL NO! It is plenty to know that right means loving and wrong means hateful. Do you realize, ShoNuff, that a few of the world's major religions DO more explicitly define right and wrong and that the members of those religions are stuck in the dark ages? The societies that have more explicit religious rules are unable to progress past the time period in which their rules were written down. A general protocol for rules is PLENTY. What is hateful is wrong. What is kind is right.
Pretty clear.

He gave beautiful guide lines of how to live a life that is a blessing to yourself and others, but we are also given a conscience that helps us determine what is right and wrong, only problem is that many people choose to ignore that voice and the more they ignore it the more quiet it grows, leading to terrible choices. And the gospel, or the good news of salvation sounds foolish to those who are unbelieving so to get into more details of the holy spirit who guides us would probably be easier one on one with someone actually interested. But Christianity, not the nominal kind, but the one where people actually follow Christ doesn't need to be explained, its a journey to take, full of life.
Also things only reveled by God can be known, sometimes we will never find out their definition to in this life.

No sir. He gave them the freedom to do right or wrong, To have a relationship with Him or to reject Him. I believe the King James Version of the Bible very clearly lays out what to do and not to do, for instance the ten commandments. Their are list of do's and don'ts for preachers, deacons, husbands and wife's, and children. how to treat your boss and how to act at work and off the job. The Bible very clearly lays out what is right and what is wrong in this present day. The People that think that and say that just want to justify there satisfying of the flesh without recognizing the physical consequences for sin. Just like the Bible lays out how a person can get to heaven with-out any if ands or buts. Many people think that as long as I worship God in my way I will make it, but Jesus says " no man cometh unto the Father but by me". God cursed Cain in Genesis for coming to Him different then the way he told him to. God has a right and wrong way to do everything. As a matter of fact the Bible stated"2Pe 1:20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation." Interpretation of the scripture is not allowed only rightly dividing it.
A Study of how God Tells us we can get to heaven from the Bible

Jesus has given us the right to be in right standing with God through Him . All we as believers have to do is take Him at His word because He will never lie to us ,decieve us ,cheat us ,or show favoritism.
In Christ there are no religious rules but only precepts that keep God's people in relationship with Him. The Spirit of God brings to our remembrance the things Jesus has said. Inorder to understand the laws of God, you must take the time to pray and study on your own. What you do not understand , do as James 1:5 says," If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask of God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him ." Never fail to ask God first and then you get off track listening to the ignorance of the unlearned. Some may seem to know, but check it out against the infallible word of God. No mistakes there.
I pray the peace of God upon your life while
you are on the way to where you are going,
my brother.
I'm still learning , too.

That would be called legalism and is something that comes from man-made religions. Christians worship, praise, and honor God the Father, not religious laws.
The 10 Commandments are guidelines on how Christians should live. Deut. 28 outlines the blessings and curses.
Our free-will lets us choose what we believe, do, and act on. Therefore, we are each products of our own choices. This also leads to responsibility and accountability and ethics and morals and values. All countries need to go back to them and clean up their act.
Hope this help.
God bless You!

This actually isn't vague if you love your neighbor as yourself how is that vague, how many of us really wish harm done to ourselves? This commandment is really to teach people how to interact with each other, if we love one another would there be any wars or fights, racism or deaths, NO! Jesus also states Love your GOD with all your mind all your soul and all your heart. Is that vague? How can you define these any clearer than this?

If you read the Bible you would discover that Jesus came to save us from our own sin, and to show us to love one another, as children when we are born we have the tendency to fight and claim everything as "MINE" so your parents try to teach you to share and to be nice to one another, When Jesus walked on the earth he came to show us that we can live without having to get drunk or do all the stuff that we do when we don't have him in our lives, He came to set us free to reminds us that we don't have to worry about having riches here on earth but to believe that there is eternal life if we follow his ways, read: the gospel of John, it doesn't mean you love everyone and that's it, there is a lot more to it... But Jesus purpose was to set us free and to fill the void we feel when we are alone even when we are at our happiest we tend to feel empty... What you hear from people is not always correct look it up yourself and allow God to minister to you, and he will answer your questions, now he isn't going to speak out right to you , but as you read the bible you just know it 's him..Walking as a Christian doesn't mean you are perfect is because we are not; that we seek to have Christ in our lives!!!

you must realize that most so called Christians do not read their Bible- what Jesus did was take the written law or letter of the law and make it a spiritual law-- do not commit adultery was to vague, people were thinking of it but not physically doing it- soooo.. Jesus made it spiritual, a heart issue, if you even think it you are guilty- and if we truly Love one another we would not do the Bad things he asked us not to do-- read Matt 5:17-20.....Do not think I came to abolish the law or the prophets........
