If I accepted jesus and routinely repent my sins on Sundays (at church), but the next Friday I sinned again, let's say I said "God Damn." Then I am in a car accident and I die, before I have repented for that on Sunday, am I doomed to hell?

Believing as I currently do that there is a God and that I have a soul and that since I know God and am forgiven by Him I will join Him one day in Heaven that gives me hope and an end goal to look forward to. If I abandon my faith in that and decide to believe in nothing how does that benefit me?

How would it make you feel, as an Atheist, to find yourself standing before God at the end of your life and not only having to justify your own lack of faith but your deliberate demise of my faith resulting in my downfall and my eternity spent in hell along with you? Hypothetically speaking, of course.

If you're a stillborn child or mentally retarded, why should that affect the soul? How are our souls different from each other? Is man judged by his soul or his intelligence? Why isn't it possible for people to be incapable of comprehending God due to their intelligence? Why does a person's soul reflect what he's learned on earth?

and what do you think of that? The woman Bishops and the openly gay clergy living with the boyfriend and stuff like that. There is a tremendous push for that in the Catholic Church as well but, they are standing pat. I for one am glad.

As a child, we had a song we would sing in church. It stated, " They will know we are Christian by our love."

Could this be the sign ?

If True, Then Christians Should Be in Their Last Reincarnation

2006-11-26 14:03:37 · 16 answers · asked by savvy s 2

The is a serious question- no Christian fanatics quoting the bible please. If you are a non fanatical christian, feel free to chime in :) I am interested in other's thoughts. I don't care what religion you are, or even if you follow your own beliefs- I am just wondering.
My take is that as long as you live morally, (though recent tests show DNA determines basic morality and society influences it...another story) you will go on to a better place, whether you believe in the "right" god(s) or not. Why would any supreme being wish others to be punished for being good, no matter who they worshipped. I believe in gods and godesses, but it is a two-way street. They don't exist without worshippers, and humans need something to believe in- that there is something better out there.
Any takes? Comments?

I keep reading questions and seeing answers about how angry the Atheists are at us Christians in the religion & spirituality forum for trying to convert them.

To the atheists out there, if you aren't here seeking answers and you don't offer any answers because you believe in nothing, what exactly are you trying to do here in this forum?

Obviously you aren't trying to save my soul. What are you trying to convert me to?
