Some time ago I was reading the bible and I got to a section where it said that church should happen in a certain sequence, in terms of singing, preaching all that and that certain people are assigned to each job. Where is that please?

If you're a good person and don't believe in god but believe in morals and ethics, why would god punish you just because you were unable to believe in something so superstitious? Would a person who believes in god but doesn't behave properly have a better chance of getting to heaven if he or she prays a lot over a person who never prays but has a pure heart?

December and January are full of holidays celebrated by various religions and cultures. I asked this about a month ago and was promptly deleted, so I'm asking again.

What upcoming holidays do you celebrate, and in what manner?

This is a follow up on a question just asked: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AmXmhNx9LJArdcCjpXmIhmzzy6IX?qid=20061126173136AAQoWy9

I noticed that people who supported the Islamic position on this marriage, totally avoided the issue. In Islam, anything Muhammad did, is forever deemed to be the everlasting perfect standard. This means, that if Muhammad owned slaves back then, its ok to own slaves now.

So to clear this matter up, we can make this very simple, IS MARRIAGE BETWEEN ADULT AND CHILD A PROPER AND MORAL ACT TODAY, NOW. YES OR NO.

NOTE TO NON-MUSLIMS:

I hope your following this. Everything Muhammad did is what Muslims are suppose to hold up as perfect behavior...TODAY! Notice how no Muslims who ansered the above linked question gave there opinion about whether its wrong to marry children today, they merely tried to claim that it was more common back then...and by the way, it wasnt! Show me proof that it was ever common for ADULTS to marry kids.

Here it is my reasons for u . I think. God I mean Christian god is a creator of bad and good things, right? Have u ever thought without knowing stinginess, you would never ever know about generosity . Or have u ever thought how you could ever get familiar with love, if there was not any hate. So, bad things have helped u to understand good things. I mean without bad stuff, you would never ever get familiar with good stuff Right? Now your god creates Muslims. The Muslims that u think they are terrorists and bad. Think about it. Aren’t we Muslims great? Without us how can u possibly get familiar with love? We have served your god a lot, now because of your god, you should stop hating us. Shouldn’t we stop fighting with each other? I am interested to know about your opinions. Remember patient is a virtue.

Muslims share in common with jews:

(1) They worship one God
(2) Both abstain from eating pork
(3) Both Eat meat slaughtered in God's name (Kosher/Halal)
(4) Law: Eye for an eye
(5) Both face Holy cities to pray (Jerusalem/Mekka)
(6) Semetic languages are similar (Hebrew & Arabic)

According to these and others, Muslims have more in common with jews than Christians do with jews.

What are your thoughts?

if God created all, who created God? Not that I don't believe, but I just need to know. And telling me he is the Alpha and the Omega won't cut it. In my heart, I know he exists, but my brain is going bonkers with this question!! If you have truthful answer, please note your source in precision. Thanks!

What if, as some Cosmologists and Mathmaticians postulate, there is a fourth pyhsical dimension that we as three dimensional creatures cant percieve.
A four dimensional cube is called a tesseract and would look like a normal cube to us but would cast an unusual shadow and be percieved that way.
Four dimensional creatures would, to us, be able to appear and dematerialize at will pop in and out of locked rooms and behave like ghosts and other paranormal phenomona.

Could the process of meditation, ritual prayers etc be a way of tuning in to this fourth pyhsical dimension?
Wacky I know and I'm not to sure of the math and science but could this be a rationalised interpretation of the spiritual experience?

And how would you answer someone else's suggestion for God's one question?

First answerer (or indeed anyone) ... you may choose to go back and edit your answer after others have answered.

Also... I promise to let this one run to the end and go to a vote... unless you all vote for something stupid :-)

Why or why not? If the church has such control over people and their belief systems in Christianity then the church could or would only let you know what they want you to know. But if they have nothing to hide, then why does it seem like they are controlling (i.e. Catholics and birth control)? Wouldn't the whole truth be the best for everyone regardless? Even if it wasn't always what people WANTED to hear?
