How do you know it's not?

I have several belief systems (if that's a good term) that mean everything to me. I believe in the power of love to fix most anything; I believe God answers prayer; I believe that I have a calling and a purpose upon this planet for the time that I am allowed to live; and I believe that I will go to heaven when my body can no longer sustain life. I don't know how I came to believe these things so deeply, but I do. I hope you have some things to believe in too that are positive and uplifting to the people around you. My most passionate belief system is informed through my acceptance and trust of Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour. I don't know HOW I know, I just know that I know that I know. If this wonderful life is a useless passion, then wow! What a cool trip I will have had!

I don't. But, if I believe in nothing, then what's the use of living? Is it not better to have a passion, however useless it might be, than to have nothing at all? I will never make a living by dancing, but I am passionate about it all the same. I literally could not live without dancing. The same way, my beliefs have no concrete evidence, yet if I did not have them, I would have committed suicide long ago. So, though I believe that it is not just a useless passion, even if it is, it's keeping me alive and in good enough spirits to brighten the lives of other people.

Because a useless passion can't heal, but God can, does and did, when He healed my daughter of Cystic Fibrosis. Can any non-belief system do that?

I don't know. I have to take it on faith. I have a minor in philosophy and really question my faith while I was working on it. It seemed like the more I learned, the less I knew. However, I came through it with my faith intact. It could be useless in your eyes, but it's been a constant in my life.

I know because of the experiences I have had the last ten years in studying the bible and hearing from God. I appreciate most people will not believe that makes any sense. Fortunately, it only needs to make sense to me, since I'm the one who believes.

Because there have been plenty of short-term, easy to see, good things come from it in my life.

Besides, no experience is useless if it is learned from.
