I am not Muslim.

But yes I do.

And here's why-

I've heard about Islamic extremists all of my life.I barely remember listening to the news as a kid about the trouble in Beirut. Then the World trade center(I could see the smoke as I grew up 25 miles north of NYC),then the USS Cole and the embassies, then 9/11.

I've been in Iraq for almost two years.I listen to prayer calls daily.I've read and asked people about Islam.I've seen Arabs praying in private and out in the open.

Before all of this I would have told you all Muslims are terrorist. After my learning experience of learning about the religion,it's values, and what it was founded upon,I can tell you only a fraction of Muslims act like terrorist.

My experience with Muslims has been positive. They are nice people, with strong beliefs like any other religion.

I chose to educate myself about Islam.I am glad I did.I'm also glad to be on Answers because I've met some wonderful Muslims that I trade e-mails with.

i have studied it.. all in all prolly 150 hours total lol, which may not be a whole lot compared to some. but yeah, i have read most of the qu'ran and studied islam from both sides. however, i'm not muslim or anything.

the reason i have an interest: because i am gay and wanted to know what islam thought about the issue. then i just started doing research about the religion altogether.

I am a convert of only three years and every day it seems that my knowledge about it is insatiable. I read more of the Hadiths, more of the histories, more of the surah's and I thank God for Islam. It is still interesting to me and always will be.

Yes.

God's word says to test "Everything", and since 9-11, I have been learning more and more about the enemies of the U.S. and the Freedom it stands for.

Here is more truth about Muhammed and Islam that I just found out yesterday!

It's basically the same thing as Christianity, no? With a few slight differences? Any religion that promotes that only they are right and all others are to be converted or going to hell is frightening. That's how holy wars start.
