Do the words from the bible in Metthew 16:18-19. mean that Peter and all other followed popes have the authority to make a person to not enter heaven? Does it mean that all people outside the catholic church would not enter heaven. In my community i see many people casting demons, and speaking with new tongue claiming that they do all that in the name of Jesus aren't these the signs of those who believe in him as said in mark 16:17? but they are not catholics. what bugs me in this is that how can they be able to do that and yet say bad words about the catholic church in their ignorance of the church, as in the bible say in mark 9:39..PLEASE HEEELLLPPPP!!!

it is true that this part of divine comedy seems to be accurate, but can you propose any contradiction between Dante's view of hell and real Christian hell. Bring passages and yearn 10 points.

the bible is a "concious" interpretation of what jesus said by humans..its written in text....and not in the words of God....the words of God are not in human language, and are broad---something our succint language does not capture..so how can we capture the "word of God" in human words in a book?..and with millenia, the translation gets lost even more...

what remains, is the subconcious message of the words of God....the feelings that we can all relate to even today as humans....the stories...the feelings of compassion between fellow man....

so in essence, we are relating and associating to the feelings/intuitions/ nature that is already inside us....

but how do these "emotional messages" converge to one perception? is this a coincidence? I beleive, this the word of God. And the relationship I beleive jesus had with God.

I have been married to a man for 5 years. In all of this time, he's managed to isolate me from everyone, and two years ago I stopped putting up with it and fighting back. He used to really physically abuse me, and then I kicked his butt back one time so badly it dislocated a disc in his spine. Since then, he never attacked me like that again. But all of this time, he's never been happy for any successes I've achieved. He always expected me to act like his success was the best thing in the world and the reason I was alive. I am graduating from College in December, and he's refused to even take off for that. His cheating brother controls his every move. I am divorcing him, though he doesn't know this is in the works. This just adds fuel to the fire. I feel so alone and am given absolutely no love or affection from him that I've started spending time with an ex from my past. He doesn't even care about that. I know it's over, but part of me still wants to salvage it. It's unhealthy and

(Genesis 21:21) :“And he dwelt in the wilderness of Paran; and his mother took him a wife out of the land of Egypt.”

The wilderness of Paran is where Abraham's wife Hagar and his eldest son Ishmael settled.
The question is where “the wilderness of Paran” is?

What do you say about this question above that was posted as an answer to a previous question of mine about faith and how through faith alone without proof or evidence we can believe in anything, this is the big problem with faith.

If you are muslim, do you enjoy wearing your hijab, or does it feel like more of a burden to you? Especially if you were raised in America. As a child did you dread having to one day put it on, or did your parent give you the choice? I asked one of my friends before and she said that she had chosen to wear one. Also, is it true that wearing a hijab is not part of the koran? If so, why do you wear it?

That is, are you certain of God's form (what shape he takes or what he looks like),of God's being, are you arrogant enough to claim the knowledge of God? something that is impossible to understand due to our insignificant faculties as humans...This is the humility of the concept: you accept that humans are incapable of understanding the full complexity of God.

I am sure you cannot explain the true shape, for example, of God.....so how can you NOT doubt?

If you don't know, yet you claim certainty in such things, such as his shape and perfect understanding in his being....then are you really beleiving if you don't know, yet say you know how he is?

The name of Moses appears the most number of times in the holy Quran, followed by the name of Jesus, there is even a full chapter called "Mariam" or Mary -holy mother of Jesus...The name of Muhammed appears only 2 or 3 times....The God which the Jews n Christains n Muslims worship is the one and same God...then why do they desecrate a book which is universal to all of us?

The way I see it, God's like Microsoft. He's got a monopoly and knows it, so he just doesn't try to hard about preventing earthquakes and disease. After all, who are people going to go to? Satan? Ha! Almost no one uses Macs anyway, and they don't play the cool videogames...

Any other way to explain the evils of the world would be welcome, assuming it is delivered without too much preaching and venom.

Everyone has a different conception of what God may be....The more mathematically minded, beleive it to be a higher power....in this respect, the normal theists would almost view this as atheism....

this is what is commonly accepted that issac newton beleived, in a "cosmic force" or higher power....even the way he describes God is based on the laws of motion:

the mover was moved by another thus, and that one by another, until you reach the first mover, which could be said to be God.

Because by mathematical logic...how could things have started moving without a "first mover"?

but this is not the same "definition" of a God that others use....There are some that describe God as an "entity" in space and time that absorbes "souls" to a place of happiness called heaven...Others beleive God is shaped like a person...

What is interesting though, is that all of these perceptions of the "one God" seem to be certain--

yet, none of them, must admit, can know the true God

A little Christian humor for a change

Jesus and Satan were having an on-going argument about who was better on the computer. They had been going at it for days, and frankly, God was tired of hearing all the bickering.

Finally fed up, God said, "THAT'S IT! I have had enough. I am going to set up a test that will run for two hours, and from those results, I will judge who does the better job."

So Satan and Jesus sat down at the keyboards and typed away.

They mouse.

They faxed.

They e-mailed.

They e-mailed with attachments.

They downloaded.

They did spreadsheets!

They wrote reports.

They created labels and cards.

They created charts and graphs.

They did some genealogy reports.

They did every job known to man.

Jesus worked with heavenly efficiency and Satan was faster than hell.

Then, ten minutes before their time was up, lightning suddenly flashed across the sky, thunder rolled, rain poured, and, of course, the power went off.

Satan stared at his blank screen and screamed every curse word known in the underworld.

Jesus just sighed. Finally the electricity came back on, and each of them restarted their computers.

Satan started searching frantically, screaming:
"It's gone! It's all GONE! "I lost everything when the power went out!"

Meanwhile, Jesus quietly started printing out all of his files from the past two hours of work.
Satan observed this and became irate. "Wait!" he screamed. "That's not fair! He cheated! How come he has all his work and I don't have any?"

God just shrugged and said,

"JESUS SAVES."

The baby was asleep in my arms, and the thought came to me that I had some holy water in one of my cupboards from days gone by, so I found it, dipped the tip of my finger into the jar and put a drop on the baby's forehead, and baptized her in the name of the father and of the son and of the holy spirit, amen. Her eyes came open right away and she started looking all around her. She's four weeks old. Her mother is 14 and unmarried, her parents are JW. She hasn't told anyone who the father is.
1) Is the baptism valid?
2) Does it really matter?
3) I am sneaky. Very sneaky. Was I sinning? I told no one but you who see this question. Maybe one day I'll tell. MUAHAHAHAHA!

Some religious people say we have free will, but I don't understand how it would be possible. If God is perfect and knows everything He knows what I'm going to do before I'm even a twinkle in my parents eyes, so He knows that I'm going to heaven or hell before I'm even born. If he truly wanted all of us to go to heaven after we die wouldn't he make sure that we were the type of person that would go to heaven? I really don't understand.

Either God wants to abolish evil, but can not;
Or he can, but does not want to;
Or he can not, and does not want to.

If he wants to, but cannot, he is impotent.
If he can, but does not want to, he is wicked.

If he neither can, nor wants to,
He is both powerless and wicked.

But if God can abolish evil, and wants to,
Then how come there is evil into the world?
