This is ONE guy who had a powerful personality. We see what happens with powerful personalities today -- they can influence millions. Millions believe that Beny Hinn can heal; millions believe that Sylvia Brown is a psychic. We have people wanting to believe Paul was inspired and putting into the bible stories of his miracles; that's like Benny Hinn's followers writing that they saw him perform a miracle! What else do we have?

If a Man claimed he is the Son of God and this is his second coming,
let's say in the middle east somewhere.
Would you believe him?
Or would you question it and therefore possibly face Hell?
Or do you need that big " SIGN " in the sky ?

When did he have time or opportunity to write all that in between trying to mediate between God and the Israelites and keeping them in line? Also, how would anyone know to take those manuscripts with them to the Promised Land and that they would have the future importance that they did?

Some backed up their answers with phrases like "YES.
I'm 100% sure ,because the Bible says so.".... yes that's a real quote.

For all those who choose to bash and tarnish anybody or anything that has anything to do with Jesus, I ask why? Can we not serperate Jesus from those who sometimes unfairly characterize Him as a condeming, unrelenting, "your going to hell", type God? The New Testimant message was about reconciliation to God through Jesus. It was not about religion, but about the love of God, and the desire He has for us to know Him. As a matter of fact Jesus spoke on this specificly by saying, "And in vain they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.' " God is not religion, or denomination. He is all that is good and pure, shown through the power of His Son Jesus.

Here's why it's in the bible: the jewish tribes put the anti-homosexual-sex stuff into leviticus to divinely mandate procreative sex to increase their numbers (to defeat their enemies). The jewish people were then heavily conditioned against gay sex. Paul (Saul of Tarsus) was raised as a jew with that strong conditioning. Paul never met Jesus but he had a strong personality and took it upon himself to write letters to the early christian communities he founded to establish theology (he conferred on occasion with the apostles). Because his personality was strong, his letters were popular and the decision was made to add them to the bible (letters to the romans, to the corinthinians. etc.). None of this has anything to do with God or divine inspiration or whatever. Think about it

I am in one of those periods where I am just questioning some aspects of my religion. I believe in God, and I believe that Jesus died for our sins. I dont think that will ever change. But I am just wondering why you think the Bible is the actual word of God seeing it was written by men hundreds of years after Christ walked the earth? Why do we believe and adhere to its rule and commandments?

I just want to know your opinion because I am at a crossroads in my beliefs. I only want to hear from believers. Trust me, I know that it not being true makes sense to people who dont believe. It makes sense for me too. But I want to know why it makes sense to people who DO believe.

Thank You

to believe that Jesus Christ is real that he did die on the cross and that He did it because He loves us? So many try to rule Jesus out but why? I'll never not believe in Him but it frustrates me that so many don't believe!!
