I have to go to a Buddist funeral tomorrow and I'd be really grateful for any advice. The person who's died is the partner of a close friend. I'm just wondring what I should wear and wgat to expect. Thank you/

at the funeral parlour if you are of other religion who do not offer joss stick you can just advance to the table with the Buddha,take a bow,go to the decease photo and take a bow the family of the decease will be by the side of the table to return your respect with thanks and you can wear any colour but not red because red is the colour for joy and is not appropriate at funeral,it is disrespect to the family,may your friend's partner be with Buddha

Make sure your clothing is conservative. Don't expose shoulders, knees,bare feet. Be prepared to remove your shoes and to kneel down. Sometimes a monetary gift is given to the surviving family members.
