One of the criticisms I get from people is that I don't take life seriously and do not work hard enough. I took that advice to heart and have been trying to change myself for the past several yrs. But it is not easy because I already have my hands full battling severe depression and lust problem.
Despite my personal issues, I still want to reach my full potential and be the best person that I can be. I may never become a CEO, star athlete, celebrity, but as long as I do my best day in, day out and make the most out of my life, I would be happy.
I really want to live every day like it is my last. I want to try relentlessly, with undying determination, tenacity to reach my dreams and make the most out of my life. I have so many doubters around me and want to prove them wrong. I really want to carry my words into action, not saying them in vain.
How can I control my mindset and live every day like it is my last so even if I die tomorrow, I will leave without any regrets?

If according to Jehovas Witnesses, only 144,000 people are going to heaven, then why do they waste their lives trying to convert people? I mean, the person they are converting could wind up taking their place in heaven! I suppose they could consider this and think that by being so selfless, they've earned themself a spot, but what if the people they are converting are more virtuous than them? Then, converting people can condemn yourself to hell. So why then, are there swarms of Jehovas Witnesses at my door every saturday? And, it's pretty prideful to assume that you are one of the 144,000 with a place. There are more than that many saints and Biblical people. After all the years of earth's existance, wouldn't that many people be there by now? If not, what kind of heaven is it where everyone else you know is in hell? Maybe I've misinterpreted something and someone can explain this religion to me better. The overview on wikipedia is just ridiculous.

I'm trying to understand, maybe Muslims can help me. My friend Ali said Allah is the Father of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob. Okay, so Muslim faith is rooted in the same beginnings apparently. In fact, Abraham had two sons, Issac and Ishmael who started two nations who ended up being enemies. Is Ishmael the father of the Islamic tribe?

And you hear that radical Muslims believe non-Muslims are a disgrace to humanity and should be eliminated and is why they intend to take over the world. Who teaches this?

Then there is the fighting over Israel & who this Holy land belongs to - the Palestinians or Israelites. God Fathered both sides, but He gave Jerusalem to the Jews. So why do the Muslims think the Holy Land belongs to them?

And last, how is it that there seems to be TWO Islamic faiths - the radical terrorists who want to rule the earth, and the peace lovers like my friend who may not profess Christ as King but love His ways?

Help me understand, please......

there was no way to tell the difference between being alive and being dead? Lets say that the afterlife is much like this one, only you don't have a body to walk around in, you have a spirit instead.
In essence, more of the same thing as right now. Alive and dead are just words without any meaning. Do you think that if you knew this to be true you would change the way you spend your days?

Just about every conflict in the world involves Buddhist terrorists demanding that the inhabitants live under strict Buddist law.

A common tactic, that we are all to familar with, is for the Buddists to wear bomb belts and intentionally detonate themselves among non-combatent (innocent civilians) unbelievers. What many people dont realize, is that these terrorists and guerrila fighters are killing people for Buddha everywhere in the world.

So while an American might be acutely aware of the Buddhist terrorism in America, they are often unaware of the fact that almost every inch of the globe is infested with this religious violence.

The real kicker is the fact that much of western civilization is absolutely unwilling to ever consider the possiblity that a religion, in and of itself, could be a threatening thing, so the Buddist terrorism appears to have no true, fundamental opposition.

"Buddha Akbar" (Buddha is greatest) is what they scream before they kill for Buddha.

I bought a friend of mine a small locket with no real occasion in mind. Excluding the idea that her parents may object to the act, would it be offensive or wrong according to her religion if I were to give it to her, or for her to accept it? Please, show where you got your information if possible. People who post answers for points will be reported. Thanks!
