It's not wrong to be gay at all.

At the possible expense of this being either a trick or loaded question, ...
No, I don't think so.
Matthew 5:28
but I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
Lust is wrong, and if we countenance it, then it is sin in our heart.
Revelation 20:12-13 And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and books were opened; and another book was opened, which is the book of life; and the dead were judged from the things which were written in the books, according to their deeds. 13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead which were in them; and they were judged, every one of them according to their deeds.

It says they are judged "according to their deeds." If the thought becomes a deed (even in your mind), then you have a sin problem. I'm sure that single straight people are tempted with lust, I'm also sure that gays are too.

No, I don't think that's quite the problem, if you are celibate.
Don't forget that you are still a sinner, celibate or not.

Temptation is one thing, and the act is another. Many good people struggle with the temptations of homosexuality. As with any sin, to be tempted is not sin. Jesus was tempted in all points as we are yet without sin. He has promised that we can have the power to overcome any temptation. A person may go all through life without freedom from these temptations, but that person, if he/she perseveres against the temptation, will be saved. We all have our struggles. Continue to fight against the lusts of the flesh. This is the war that we all face, whatever the sin is.
Hope that helps.

It is the act that is a sin. I'm sure there are people who have those urges and are celibate. That would be a person who is doing what Jesus asks; to deny their own lusts and not sin against God. Just like a person who is not married not having sex. That would be obedient to God's word.

No.....it's also not wrong to be gay if you are not celibate. People are just as they are because they were born that way. And if this is a religious question look at it this way...if god didn't want someone to be gay he simply wouldn't have made them that way.

Jesus did teach that the thought is the sin. "He who so much as looks at another man's wife with a lustful eye, has committed adultery." But that's just speaking from a Christians point-of-view. My personal opinion, it's not wrong to think homosexual thoughts or act upon them.

Apparently not. It is the act of having sex with someone of the same sex that is wrong, not the person.

Being tempted is not a sin.

It’s not wrong to be gay.

Wrong can be for both homosexual people and heterosexual people whenever they use sex inappropriately, such as to control, harm, abuse, manipulate or use others, treating them as sexual objects.

I see the potential wrong in sex more in the WHY than in the WHO.

you can be celibate no matter what your sexual orientation is. If you choose to abstain from sex, whatever kind of sex, that's your choice and there is nothing wrong with that.

Is it wrong to be a kleptomaniac but not to steal?

Is it wrong to be psychopathic but not to kill?

Is it wrong to be a junkie but not to get a fix?

Hate the sin but love the one afflicted by it.
