People normally translate Salah into English as prayer. But prayer does not denote the complete meaning of the Muslim Salah. Because to pray means to defeat, to ask for help, which people in other religions do when they offer prayers. But in Islam when we offer Salah besides asking for help from almighty God, we even praise Him and we also receive guidance in our Salah; therefore Salah is more then mere prayer. I prefer personally calling Salah as a sort of programming, as a sort of conditioning because in the Salah we are being programmed. We are being conditioned to follow the commandments of almighty God, the do's and don't s, [the] good things you should do, love your neighbors, be honest, not to lie, etc. And stay away from bad things. So I would prefer calling Salah as a programming towards righteousness. Therefore it is far different than prayers of other religions, in which you only ask for help from almighty God.

Similarly Allah is a unique word. That is the reason we
Muslims, we prefer calling Allah with the Arabic word Allah
instead of the English word God because a person can play
mischief with the English word God. But when any Muslim is
speaking to the non Muslim, who may not understand the
meaning of Allah and uses the English word God like what I
am doing today, I have got no objection but I would like to
mention that God is not the appropriate translation of the
Arabic word Allah

Prayers in Islam are said in Arabic. So unless you are fluent it will take a bit of time to learn.
