Because of the flaws in the religion itself. If I say any more, I will get another false violation report from a religious nut. Then my answer will be removed by Yahoo.

Temptation and pressure. Ministers and Christian leaders are subject to judgement on a far greater level than most. So when they mess up (like all of us do) they have the spotlight thrown on them. Many seek to point the finger at every Christian leader that falls and make sweeping judgements against the whole of Christianity. There are many Christian leaders around the world that are not poor examples, you just never hear about them : )

You answered it in the same question because they are as human as you and I. Temptation enters there lives just as it does ours. There lives however are under scrutiny at all times because of where they stand in the Christian Community.
If you wanted to take this on a religious level spiritual warfare is at hand. The fight for ppls souls and Satan very much wants to take as many as he can down with him. Christian leaders are a number 1 target because when they fall ....there is left the doubt of there be any good and truth in religion.

almost all leaders are poor examples ,,,,don't just have to be Christians,,, leadership comes with power and fame ,,,and such people use this to fulfill there fleshly desires, but not all leaders are bad,, but a good one is about as thin to find as a tooth on a hen,,, the best leader i can suggest to try to find fault with is Jesus,, I've never seen one fault in Him ,,,just remember just because a person says they are a christian does not mean they are,,, to be a christian is to be christ like,, so use this as your example,,,,

You make judgments about all Christians because of a few that have made mistakes? I thought you liberals were accepting of all creeds of life? Where is your acceptance of gays and Christians? You don't give credit to the hundreds of thousands of Christian leaders that are doing a good job and helping people. All you can do is attack those who made mistakes. If they are poor human beings then I hope you analyze yourself and purge yourself of your own sins.

A) We probably notice immorality more from a religious leader. We'd be much more tolerant of a lawyer or businessperson performing the same acts. Or morelikely, we just wouldn't hear about it.
B) They may become so involved in the Church because they know what they are capable of and they believe submerging themselves in Holy things will help.... and it doesn't.

Most of us do "practice what we preach."
I assume that you are referring to the latest scandal, involving Haggard?
If I understand what he has done after the scandal broke, he has confessed his sin, repented, and submitted to Christian discipline and correction.
1 John 1:8-10
If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. [9] If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. [10] If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us.
Why don't you follow Haggard's pattern, and repent, and be baptized and discipled so that you too will not be a hypocrite too?
Matthew 28:18-20
And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. [19] "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, [20] teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."
This way, you too can be forgiven of your own sins, and reestablish a right relationship with God.

These leaders preach, because they have dedicated their lives to Jesus and God. THey may be this, but they are also humans, and humans will sin, it is in our nature

They become drunk on the power that leadership gives them and forget what it means to lead by example. Money is a great tool for separating the truth from the fictional. Many just put up a good front.
