One of the criticisms I get from people is that I don't take life seriously and do not work hard enough. I took that advice to heart and have been trying to change myself for the past several yrs. But it is not easy because I already have my hands full battling severe depression and lust problem.
Despite my personal issues, I still want to reach my full potential and be the best person that I can be. I may never become a CEO, star athlete, celebrity, but as long as I do my best day in, day out and make the most out of my life, I would be happy.
I really want to live every day like it is my last. I want to try relentlessly, with undying determination, tenacity to reach my dreams and make the most out of my life. I have so many doubters around me and want to prove them wrong. I really want to carry my words into action, not saying them in vain.
How can I control my mindset and live every day like it is my last so even if I die tomorrow, I will leave without any regrets?

Without Xtianity, it is easy with Existentialism.

From Sartres school of existentialism, you can get the most out of life by living it authentically.

We must realize that because no values exist outside ourselves, we as individuals in a community, become the source of values. The process by which we create values is the process of choice. When you realize the enormity of a situation, and still make the choice as best as you can, shouldering the consequences that may develop, is living with authenticity.

This allows you control over your actions at all times. Now, by not making a choice, becasue you are afraid, is living inauthentically. It is living a lie and is not a life worth living.

YOu also have the choice not to choose and let fate takes its course. This is living even below an inauthentic value level, becaus eyou will have no control of the consequences of your inaction.

When we make a chice, Sartre says, we are taking on the greatest of responsibilities.

So, live existentially, live authentically. Make you choices based on you own moral values, and not from a higher power (that is choosing not to choose).

That is how carpe diem should be done. Make the right choices based on your power to choose.

Remember, you are accountable for your actions. You may want to be a CEO. Are you going to school for that masters in management? No? Then you are living an inauthentic life based on a dream. Find your niche in life, carve it, and set it in stone. You are the only one responsible for you.

I asked myself the same question a few years ago... There is nothing in this world except Jesus Christ that can make your life complete. If you think about it you usually look forward to a party or a gathering but that only a few hours of your life. I have a question for you... If you died today do you know whether or not you would go to heaven? There are a couple easy steps to make sure you know Jesus Christ and have fulfillment in your life. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord. Ask God into your heart and ask forgiveness for your sins. Three easy steps for a lifetime of fulfillment.

If possible, try to keep your mind focused on others, instead of yourself. The more you’re thinking about other people the less time to dwell on your depression and lustful thoughts.

There are many ways you can do this. Find someplace where you can volunteer your time. Pray for the needs of others. Just do what you can to get involved with other people.

There are so many people in this world that are lonely. Reaching out can not only help them, but bring great purpose to your life.

Also pay about this. God does not want us dwelling on ourselves. Pray and ask for guidance.

My experience: 1. Give it all to Jesus Christ, the only begotten son of God. 2. Smile everyday. 3. Do a kind deed everyday. 4. Let the naysayers stand in their huddles but don't stand with them. 5. Fight your own battles and know that they are yours and with the guidance of Christ, they can be overcome, one day at a time, one temptation at a time, one bout of depression at a time. 6. Know that you are only accountable after your last physical breath on earth for what you have done, and not for what others have thought of you.

Ask Jesus Christ into your heart and ask Him to live through you. He will give you joy beyond anything you have experienced so far in life. And just knowing that you know, that you know, that you know that you belong to Him and where you are going after you die will give you amazing peace and joy.

I pray that you come to know Him!
