I bought a friend of mine a small locket with no real occasion in mind. Excluding the idea that her parents may object to the act, would it be offensive or wrong according to her religion if I were to give it to her, or for her to accept it? Please, show where you got your information if possible. People who post answers for points will be reported. Thanks!

That is not an easy question to answer. I am a Pentacostal. But, there are many pentacostal religions, as well as many different types of Baptists, and all the rest of them.
Most Pentacostals are ok with jewlrey, so it would be ok. But, there are some that dont believe in any jewelry and feel it is materialistic. This belief is in many different demonations. So, you would need to see if her paraticular religion believes in jewelry. Ask her parents. Thats the best way to go. I hope this helps you.

Pentecostals don't have any guidelines against jewelry or giving gifts. (Yeah, the parents might object to it on a "she's too young for a boyfriend thing" but...they wouldn't object based on their religion)

Um, I got my information from knowing pentacostals for a few years. You can look at the website below, but Pentecostals...just aren't jewelry haters. They're most like Baptists with drums and a lot of interest in the Holy Spirit.

That is soooooooo sweet. Also kind of romantic...

Let's face it. Most guys DON'T buy their gal pals jewelry "for no reason at all". If there is no religious holiday or birthday imminent, the reason is ROMANTIC.

There is no particular "code violation" involved here, according to Pentecostal Christianity, unless you are courting this girl (think, dating, romance, etc.) and DO NOT SHARE HER FAITH. At that point, her parents may object to her "dating" you, including the recieving of gifts, on the basis of you being "unequally yoked".

So, do her parents approve of you as romantic material, or not? That will solve the jewelry question.
