One guy said he was gay and was going to come out dressed in drag at his son's bar mitzvah. And people took him seriously! What the heck does it take to get people to do a little bit of parsing?

I am not Wiccan myself, although I became interested in what it was all about several years ago and did quite a lot of research. I also have several friends who are Wiccan. Why do people jump to the conclusion that it is evil? It is one of the oldest religions and it is a peaceful one. Wiccans have never persecuted anyone, and in turn do not hate Christians because they have different beliefs, so why all the hate? Why all of the "You're stupid because magick doesn't exist." No Wiccan would say something like that to a Christian. I have observed a few Wiccan ceremonies, it's not a cult, it's not Satanic. It's peaceful.

I mean, God created us as humans and he created the earth with everything needed to sustain human life. He created myriads and myriads of spirit creatures and the heavens for them. Why is it that so many seem not to appreciate the life God gave us and so badly want to escape to a heaven that we cannot really even imagine, because it is not for most of us to ever gain. Adam and Eve had a very good life and relationship with God before they ruined it and rebelled, and they lived as humans on this earth. We always want something that we can't have. Life in heaven is just not for humans...its for spirit creatures and the few thousand who have been bought from the earth for a specific purpose...to rule with Jesus for a thousand years.

The rest of us have life-everlasting as a hope, but that will be on earth...we are humans, we are living souls. Even the dead who will be resurrected will be resurrected to human life (except again, the 144,000 who will rule along with Jesus from heaven.

This morning i recieved an invitation to go to a halloween party for my church. Its next month and i want to make a prinncess outfit. I'm 14 and 298lb and extremly overweight. My mom worked all night to make this outfit perfect to show my gramps thats in town for a bingo tournament. I put in on and looked in the mirror. I told my self i was beautiful and walked downstairs. When i got downstairs and showed him. Before he could say anything i turned aroud and a button hit him in the eye. My dress busted off. I left degraded and exposed, looking down at my numerous rolls (which by the way, I enjoy fiddling with in dark rooms all by myself.) while my gramps was left unconsious. What should i do?

Is it because it's the biggest obstacle to human progress since the beginning of recorded time?

Maybe because religicoes always use circular logic to support their claims?

Maybe because I've been stereotyped, assaulted and/or pitied by holier than thou religicoes?

Is it the "I'm right, you're wrong" attitude that I've come to expect from conservative religious groups?

Or maybe it's the mysogenistic viewpoint of many religions?

Sometimes, I just don't know. Why does religion make YOU so mad?

A buddy of mine sent me this web address. I looks extremely fair in that Muslims and Arabs are allowed to speak for themselves. It also spells out that "Most Muslims do not support terror". Even so, it's shocking.

Have a look at the film and tell me if you are in agreement that we are facing Hitler all over again. Only this time, with the religious spin, the climax could well be far worse. Which begs the question, "How do we stop it effectively?" Given Iraq, it doesn't appear that the military option is working all that well, so what do we do?!

When the New Testament was being pulled together, this book was almost rejected by the "official" canon, and was noted as disputed by others....was almost rejected again in a later vote; and finally was declared by Martin Luther to be "neither apostolic nor prophetic".

Why is there such an obsession with a book that almost was never included in the Bible, is so different from the other books John supposedly wrote, and was rejected by many early influential Christian leaders????

Please try to answer as many parts to my question as possible, thanks. :)

First off, do you think clairvoyance exists? I DO believe some people possess some abilities to feel or sense things that maybe some of us are unable to, but are these people confusing this ability WITH clairvoyance, and it might not be what it truly is? Take for instance these television shows where the clairvoyant speaks with a deceased loved one - They always seem to know specific details that no one would/should know. Do the family members participating fill out some kind of questionaire that gives clues that these 'clairvoyants' go off of and just guess and feel their way through, or are some truly legit? Why aren't they more popular and why aren't there more believers if they've given proof time after time of their abilities?
