Waoo it does say he is a prophet. I knew he was in islam ... This is pretty interesting Thanks!
According to Tanhuma,[25] Aaron’s activity as a prophet began earlier than that of Moses. The writer of the Testaments of the Patriarchs, however, hesitates to rank Moses the faithful, “him that speaks with God as with a father,” as equal with Aaron.[26] The rabbis are still more emphatic in their praise of Aaron’s virtues. Thus Hillel, who in Herod’s time saw before him mainly a degenerate class of priests, selfish and quarrelsome, held Aaron of old up as a mirror, saying: “Be of the disciples of Aaron, loving peace and pursuing peace; love your fellow creatures and draw them nigh unto the Law!” [27] This is further illustrated by the tradition preserved in Abot de-Rabbi Natan 12, Sanhedrin 6b, and elsewhere, according to which Aaron was an ideal priest of the people, far more beloved for his kindly ways than was Moses. While Moses was stern and uncompromising, brooking no wrong,

Aaron (Harun) pbuh is surely a prophet of Islam.
Allah says in the Quraan,(to Musa as) "Go to fir`aun, surely he has exceeded (all)bounds. He (Musa as) said "My Lord!Expand for me my breast, and ease for me my affair, and loose a knot from my tongue, that they may understand my word, and appoint from me a minister from my household, Harun, my brother;confirm my strength by him, and assosiate him in my affair, so that we may glorify You much, and remember You much. Surely You are ever seeing us" He (Allah) said: "you are indeed granted your petiton Oh Musa...' (Ta Ha, 20:24-36)
and: Go both of you to Firaun, surely he has exceeded all bounds. Yet speak to him a gentle word, that perchance he may be admonished, or may fear." The two said: "Our Lord! We fear that he may hasten against us or that he may be inordinate. He (Allah) said "Fear not. Surely I shall be with you both, hearing and seeing. So go to him, and say, 'surely we are two Messengers of your Lord, so send forth the children of Isra'el with us and chastise them not. Indeed we have braught you a sign from your Lord; and peace be upon him who follows the guidance...!" ( Ta Ha, 20:43-47)
These are just two of the many verses of the Quraan that give us clear proof that Harun (as) was made a messenger as well.
Moses(pbuh) had a stutter. This is one of the reasons that He asked Allah to make Harun as a prophet as well so that he could assist him with his work of preaching Islam. Allah granted Musa as his wish as He (Allah) says "you are indeed granted your petiton Oh Musa"
and in another verse in the same Chapter or Surah "So go to him, and say, 'surely we are two Messengers of your Lord"
I know this is not part of your question part its a good point to bring up--
The second verse is a challenge to those who say that we muslims are commanded in the Quraan to kill anyone that is not a muslim and that we are to force feed Islam to the non-muslims.
Go both of you to Firaun, surely he has exceeded all bounds. Yet speak to him a gentle word,....."
I really do hope that your question has been answered and have a better understanding now(And Allah knows best)

YES HE WAS A PROPHET

I had to add more to my answer as I believe some muslims might be confused:(Daizy)
Moses' brother Aaron (A.S) did not have a speech impediment like Musa did. Moses Prayed to Allah to appoint the mission to both him and his brother Aaron to deliver his people to the promised land and liberate them from the Pharo. So Allah granted moses this request Ta-Ha 43-44.

The Qur'an states that Moses, on receiving the order to go to Pharaoh, supplicated: My Lord, open my breast (relieve my mind and enable me to bear everything), and ease for me my task. Loosen a knot upon my tongue so that they may understand my words (20:25–28).
Sura 21 the prophets:
48. In the past We granted to Moses and Aaron the criterion (for judgment), and a Light and a Message for those who would do right,-
"... And Moses said unto his brother Aaron: Take my place among the people." (Quran 7:142).
Now you believe what you want but if I where you I would ask an iman... Sweetheart I spent years studying the Quran before I converted.

Muslim Man: I don't know whether you're a Muslim or not, if U R, U will know that when Gold told Moses to go tell Pharaoh stop oppressing the people and tell them he is god, Moses asked to have Aaron as his 'aid'. Why R U asking us to consider? Do we have the authority to pass such posts on people, he is a Prophet and he is not!! Can you have two Prophets in the same place at the same time? Two captains to one ship?
EDIT:
God said to Moses when: I am God, go to Pharaoh the oppressor….Moses said: "make my brother Aaron my minister (means right hand man/aid"….
Did Moses ask God to make his brother a Prophet? Will God speak to both of them? Will we have a 1st class and 2nd class Prophet??? Will someone answer me?

A prophet according to the Bible has many roles, among which are: (a) spokesman of God, (b) teacher, etc.
Based on this, I think Aaron was a prophet.
