I feel I am very intensely spiritual, I have a firm belief in something unseen, I'll say "God", but not necessarly the same "God" christians believe in. I have searched for years to find the right church, but have given up and when I made my peace with "God" about this, I felt a weight had been lifted off my shoulders instantly. I realized I was searching for something because I let society make me feel guilty for not going to church and not having a religion. I have not believed in many things since I was a child, but would never dare express myself. I have "church hopped" with 5 different religions and none of them taught what I felt. Since I got the courage to express my beliefs out loud, about a year ago, I have been happier and I feel healthier and my relationship with "God" has gotten stronger than ever. My search ended when I realized all I had to do was look inside myself and that is where I find peace and faith. I'm not trying to ruffles any feathers... just curious...

1 Corinthians 13: 1-7 "I may speak in different languages of people or even angels. But if i do not have love, I am only a noisy bell or a crashing cymbal. I may have the gift of prophecy. I may understand all the secret things of God and have all knowledge, and i may have faith so great i can move mountains. But even with all these things, if i do not have love, then i am nothing. I may give away everything i have, and i may even give my body as an offering to be burned. But I gain nothing if i do not have love.
"Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous, it does not brag, and it is not proud. Love is not rude, is not selfish, and does not get upset with others. Love does not count up wrongs that have been done. Love is not happy with evil but is happy with the truth. Love patiently accepts all things. It always trusts, always hopes, and always remains strong."

That is what true love is.

Some who ask questions here in R&S are trying to further their own agenda - I guess that's pretty natural. But in doing so, what is the point of name calling, slandering, and in general making fun of others who are honestly trying to answer some of life's hardest questions? What do you really get out of it? I just can fathom how it helps anyone in any way. Can someone please explain - I mean REALLY explain?

If God so loved us that he allowed Jesus to be sacrificed for the betterment of mankind, wouldn't God incourage stem cell research? Jesus cured so many sick people, surely he would not be against finding cures for so many illnesses.

And you say that children are "only kids" and don't know any better. However, you use the exact same logic to justify your belief in your imaginary sky-pixie, that children do to justify thiers.
And they have an advantage over you, they actually have evidence to back up thier belief. Santa leaves them presents, the Easter bunny leaves them eggs and candy, the Tooth fairy takes thier old teeth and leaves money behind...
You on the other hand, have no evidence whatsoever.
So why disbelieve one type of fairy and believe another?

I have heard that laying with a man or a woman without being bounded by marriage, is a sin.
So I ask you what is marriage. Can we conclude that the definition of marriage today is the same as it was in biblical times. Do we really know? Is marriage a union of two people by common law. Is it the declearation of their union in front of loved ones after a blood test, and a signing of a paper?
Or is it the love in their hearts that they share together. SO if this is so how can we say it is a sin. Has the words of the bible been misconstrued so that man can place judgement? Is is a sin to lay with someone with a piece of paper of a marriage, but without love,as so many do today, because of the branding of mans eyes?
Be careful my friend how you answer, most of us can count at least one person we know who lives their life with another not from love, but conveneiance, and status. Dosent god= love
And if two people have love then they have god. And this is the marriage of god, and man.

First, I am a Christian. Second, it may be too early to know for sure exactly what the truth is in this whole thing. But third, I find it VERY difficult to believe what he is saying at this point. He has admitted to buying methamphetamine but says he didn't use it. YEAH RIGHT! He also has admitted to paying a male prostitute to give him a massage but says he didn't ever have sex with him. YEAH RIGHT!

I just want to scream everytime this happens! Rather than placing our faith in God, hundreds and thousands of Christians act like cattle and look to a MAN to lead them. When will we finally understand that NO MAN can lead you to heaven. Men are so far from being perfect. Men are fallible. When we place our faith in A MAN we will ALWAYS be dissapointed!

Will Christians who look for a charismatic type leader learn from this? Probably not. They'll just move on to the next charismatic leader that comes along. Men like Ted Haggard do so much more damage than good for Christ

What has a Christian done to them..nothing. A Christian is a good overall person. Christians who are in excellent faith with the Lord don't swear, lie, cheat, steal, rape, molest, murder, or sodomize. They live a clean moral life. And what is wrong with that? Are non-Christians just jealous of our cleanliness and very strong will? There is such thing as riding the fence and many so called Christians do just this. They are not Christian, they are non-Christian. You either follow the path to righteousness or follow the world. There are so many things going on in this world that are insulting to the Christian minded people. Christians have a right to have rights just like any other religion. We Christians don't accept the ways of the world but we must live with it just like non-Christians do not accept the ways of Christians but they must live with it. Look at the direction this world is going..its coming to an end. I hope and pray more people will accept Jesus into their hearts.
