First, I am a Christian. Second, it may be too early to know for sure exactly what the truth is in this whole thing. But third, I find it VERY difficult to believe what he is saying at this point. He has admitted to buying methamphetamine but says he didn't use it. YEAH RIGHT! He also has admitted to paying a male prostitute to give him a massage but says he didn't ever have sex with him. YEAH RIGHT!

I just want to scream everytime this happens! Rather than placing our faith in God, hundreds and thousands of Christians act like cattle and look to a MAN to lead them. When will we finally understand that NO MAN can lead you to heaven. Men are so far from being perfect. Men are fallible. When we place our faith in A MAN we will ALWAYS be dissapointed!

Will Christians who look for a charismatic type leader learn from this? Probably not. They'll just move on to the next charismatic leader that comes along. Men like Ted Haggard do so much more damage than good for Christ

To Keyse Soze

I will be the LAST to "exonerate" Ted Haggard if indeed he has done what it looks like he has. That is quite different, though, from being willing to forgive him if he indeed repents and shows godly remorse for his actions.

Oops. When I first read your statement I thought you wrote exonerate not excoriate. Actually, I am not a person that will do either.

To righteous

I agree. That's why I said it's too early to know. BUT I've just seen this happen so often and from what I am seeing so far it just doesn't look good right now.

When I lived in Colorado Springs, I attended New Life Church (Ted Haggard's church) I have to say that we didn't, don't and don't ever plan on putting our faith in a person. Ted, whether or not he is guity of this, is a horribly sinful man, just like I am a horribly sinful person, just like David in the Bible, and dozens of others have fallen so low that they could never, ever even imagine receiving any type of forgiveness from God. Just because he was a pastor, does not protect him from the sin of this fallen world we live in. David was a man after God's own heart, yet committed adultury and murder. Not saying that was right, but it's times like these that we have to realize that we are weak humans that are naturally prone to sin, and we just need to always be asking God to protect us, and rooting our faith in Him and His Word, rather than in mere man.

Yep, I've been hearing about it. It's best to trust in the Word and not the speaker. That is how cults come about. Always, ALWAYS test the spirits. Be like the Bereans in Acts and double check EVERYTHING a preacher, missionary, or evangelist of any kind says.

Brilliant!! Absolutely brilliant!! The total and absolute hypocrisy from the leader of the Evangelicals blown right into the sky with a vocal opponent of same-sex marriages and homosexuality not only being accused of paying for sex with a man. but also ADMITTING to buying methamphetamine (a popular drug in gay circles), however saying "I never used it".

Yeah, and Bill Clinton never inhaled but he shagged his intern tho!! HAHAHAHAHA!

PRICELESS !!

First I am not a Christian. Second, I do not believe all Christians are sinners. Third, when I make that suggestion on YA, I get howled down by Christians. Fourth, when a Christian actually commits a sin, he is excoriated by his fellow Christians. Please explain.

I think the real answer is to see that religion is hypocrisy. The religious are deceiving snakes who say one thing and do another.
