A miracle is an unexplainable but seemingly benevolent act. Many such events happen all of the time. We just don't necessarily attribute them to God any more.

Depends what you define as a miracle . I personally never believe that he did but... Basically miracles could be anything some would say a miracle is a kidney transplant . Others would say it is the sunset. Miracles need not always be complete trangression from natural events although many philosphers would claim this. The most publised miraculous events were those that were guided by Jesus he's not on earth so less interaction. The fact is miracles are probably seen by many people but arent not in the media as it is seen as mental illness

God still performs miracles to this day. If God performs less miracles, this is because of the generalized lack of faith.

Even now I'm listening to an account about miracles from Mount Athos--what a coincidence!

God does miracles today, just nobody believes it. I was used by God to heal a non christian with a twisted knee, the healing was instant and undeniable, the guy was speechless but still would not accept it was God!
We have many healing miracles in our church. I was healed instantly of depression. Some have been healed of cancer. Miracles are happening all over the place.

I have two answers for you:
1. Seriously, they still happen, every day, but most people are too hardened to recognize a miracle if it hits them in the face. I think everyone considers a miracle as big, like walking on water, when miracles are usually "gifts" from your higher power, to show his/her love for you.
2. Humorously, because they probably had better publicity back then!

God is still working miracles every day, we have become a cynical unbelieving nation and prefer to try and find other reasons for the miracles that happen today.

Consider the purpose of the miracles, who performed them, and whether we need them today. The purpose of the miracles, signs, and wonders was to confirm the word and to show that God does not show partiality (Acts Chapter 10). Both of those reasons have been fulfilled forever; therefore, miracles are no longer needed for those purposes.

Now that we actually have the ability to document miracles on videotape they seem to have mysteriously vanished. I'm sorry but being born is not a miracle, I'm talking biblical size miracles. Perhaps there were never any miracles to begin with.

I take it you DO believe God did miracles in the past. If you take the massive time-scale of the Old Testament into account, the many miracles recorded actually amounted to very rare 'bouts' of divine activity. Decades, or even hundreds of years could go by with no miracles. But the ones recorded often occurred at crucial points when God wanted people to take note of the direction he was taking with them; saving Noah then establishing a new covenant with him (and all of us) after the flood with the rainbow first appearing as its sign; providing a ram for Abraham to sacrifice instead of his son, this pointing to Christ; the hand writing on the wall at Nebuchadnezzar's feast, heralding God replacing Babylon with Mede/Persian rule. And so on. But some 400 years passed prior to Christ's birth with apparent silence on God's part.

Then miracles abounded as never before with his arrival. After his resurrection the newly established Church was ablaze with miraculous power when the Holy Spirit was sent. Those miracles 'tailed off' as the Church spread across the world because God had done the necessary - he had fulfilled all his promises and established the New Covenant in Christ. Christians were to "walk by faith, not by sight". God never promised miraculous help to keep them from tribulation, illness, etc. Otherwise, everybody would be joining the Church for all the wrong reasons! But miracles DO continue, even today. One lady who heads up a Christian group fighting for the basic human rights of persecuted people the world over said, "We don't believe in miracles - we DEPEND on miracles!" For those with eyes to see, God miraculously intervenes to an astonishing degree. But never forget that Jesus warned, "Even if someone rises from the dead, they still will not believe." God won't cast his pearls before 'swine'. An unbelieving world will laugh the idea of miracles to scorn. So no miracles are performed in their midst. But for those who believe, the power of God is at work. I hope this encourages you.
