Some who ask questions here in R&S are trying to further their own agenda - I guess that's pretty natural. But in doing so, what is the point of name calling, slandering, and in general making fun of others who are honestly trying to answer some of life's hardest questions? What do you really get out of it? I just can fathom how it helps anyone in any way. Can someone please explain - I mean REALLY explain?

Yes Snow Surfer, I am a SW fan - I know it's misspelled - but padawan was taken :)
For the rest of you - thank you for your replies. I've never understood what compels another being to hurt anyone. I probably never will. The concept is foreign to me. I was brought up to be kind and courteous to everyone. I was taught to argue a point meant to use your own words to present your case as succinctly as you could. I was taught to treat others with compassion. I guess this is not common in today's society. Very sad.

It's a natural human condition to drag others down. That's because if other people are terrible or stupid, then maybe I'm not so bad. Look at the people who watch The Jerry Springer Show. You know they're thinking "jeez I thought I was ignorant but look at these poor dumb mofo's". People have delighted in the anguish of others since the beginning of time. We need to charge ourselves with the task of rising above that childish instinct and learn to treat each other with respect. We're all guilty on some level.

people are all different. Some maybe just having a bad day Others may hate life and their own as well. still others do it cause they think they're funny or tuff or insecure. and some just do it in spite. for they have no life and nothing Else to do but pick on others weakness while hiding from their own. But i can tell you this they will have their day of judgment and the rain will come down on them. so for now don't be manipulated by their words of offense. and pray they seek the savior for their repentance. GOD BLESS

No one will ever begin to explain some of the actions that humans do. Maybe they born that way...maybe society turned them in to something..maybe they are just plain evil? Who knows? Who knows why people kill other people or why people hurt other people. It is something that never will be answered, no matter how hard you look. Just know that you, yourself are a good person and that's all that really matters, I guess.

the point in that is it makes people feel better about themselves. i dont really worry about it, i get called names all the time by these proclaimed christians. (not all mind you, just some). it has to do with hurting someones pride, by making a point against them, if they cant answer they will resort to that type of behavior. much like that of a 6 yr old.

Hurting others benefits no one in any way yet many people I've noticed seem to take great pleasure in it. I assume that name calling and belittling makes them feel better about their insecurities. Once we can all learn one thing, we would be in better shape and harmony. That one thing is respect. The problem is no one seems to respect other people's beliefs anymore.

Most people on here are pretty genuine, but then you get the weenies. Honey, they are in every group. You just have to ignore them like gnats and move on because all they'll do is irritate you.
