Science knows, and even Christians agree, that some people are born with genetic predispositions to such things as alcoholism, which is of course a sin. Studies show that identical twins separated at birth but born to an alcoholic parent are more susceptible to the disease. Is homosexuality is the same way?

We all inherit sin from Adam, but the only physical thing that links us is DNA. So then, DNA must be corruptible ever since the fall of man occurred. Biblical scholars and theologians agree that had man not fallen we would not experience accidents death and disease. The fact that a lot of disease is genetic lends credence to the notion that even DNA itself was corrupted by the fall of man. Since we know this why is there such a firestorm from Christians who say that people cant be born homosexual? THE BIBLE SAYS WE WERE BORN IN SIN.

Whats important is to realize that its not how you are born, overcoming sin that you are beset with is what makes one worthy of heaven.

Are they really moral or right? Are they morally superior?

Mel Gibson, a Catholic (Christian without saints) was busted on a DWI, and then started cursing Jews when he was arrested.

Tom Delay, a born again Christian, and former house majority leader, traded donations for votes.

Rev. Ted Haggert led a 14,000 member church, and was the president of the evangelical association representing 30 million evangelicals. He was a valued member of the Christian evangelical leadership and was often asked his opinion by the White House. Today he admitted on camera that he bought meth from a male masseuse, bought didn't use it. Yeah right, and Bill Clinton didn't inhale. I'm sure it will soon come out that he did have sex with the male prostitute.

I'm just an atheist, but have a better grasp of ethics than any of these three "moral" Christians.

Do theists hold a monopoly on morals?

I think not.

doesn't that mean that only one can be right and all the rest are wrong and are going to be damned for an eternity in hell. Seriously, i'm tired of people claiming that they are the only true religion/ denomination. It sickens me.

My grandmother was the leader of a coven way back in the 30's. She died 14 years before I was born. As a teenager, I saw things and heard things that nobody else could. I also woke up one night to find a brilliant ball of light floating outside of a window. It passed through the window and landed on top of my wardrobe. The light was extremely white and bright, yet the glow from it was no more than 5 inches away from it. The wardrobe made sounds as if breaking under the weight of the light. A short time later the light floated out in the direction it came in through the window. Needless to say, I was very frightened by the light, but I felt that it was trying to contact me. It may have been my grandmother trying to reach me. Is she the reason for my past experiences?

being an atheist is just as foolish as being a Christian, islamic, etc. I mean, you really can't prove God and you can't disprove him or her. (I'm not trying to attack any religions here.)
