A good question. you could also ask where was God when millions of people were killed in the Holocaust, you could also ask where was God when millions of people were enslaved and taken their dignity away, you could also ask where was God when the two planes crashed into the twin towers, you can ask this question all you want but in the end you will always recieve the same answer. I think that God created Heaven and Hell for this specific reason. I dont think he can interfere with human life or 'life on earth' otherwise he would have been there to stop all of these horrible things from happening. I believe He will be there when those people that lost their lives go to Heaven though.

God knows everything before it happens He knew this would happen;what people tend to forget or don't know we do not live in Gods world.Satan rules the earth,we are born into sin,for whatever reason God allowed us to have free will;what we do with it is up to us.Satan uses anyone to do his bidding even children.this is why every should pray with their children before they leave out the house;that God will keep them covered in the blood of Jesus for protection from any evil thing that might try to come up against them during their day and to thank God when they arrival home safe

dont blame God, its their destination and their time ends without any premonitions. i hate those killers who killed innocent kids, but to think these kids done their part of giving joys to their love ones, there are always reasons to all of this. only god knows the reasons. acceptance is the only way to do, but the good memories will lingers for lifetime. blame the killers, theyre insane and inhuman, but god always have punishment to these kind of criminals, in due time. if the criminals escape the human law of justice, they cant escape the justice from the lord. amen my brother was killed with no apparent reason, the killers was imprisoned during the trials, but the judge dismissed the case as the judge said lack of evidence, while we presented all the witnesses and had a strong evidence, it hurts us so much because the killers gave huge amount of money, and we didnt have such huge amount. its now four years, the killers are at large, and now theyre suffering from different illnesses, one of the killers have cancer, the other killer was shot to dead and the other two remaining killers are in serious illness.,i might say these is the punishment from the lord. justice of the lord had been done. no bitterness on our part now. im stating these story to you, that God has its own way to show his law and how his judgement done. amen

I don't have access to Jesus day planner for the days in question, but when He was on Earth, bad things were happening around him then, too, that he didn't do anything about. Earth is not heaven and we are unreasonable to expect any Utopian circumstances to occur here.
Luke 13:1-3 (Amplified Bible)
1JUST AT that time there [arrived] some people who informed Jesus about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices.
2And He replied by saying to them, Do you think that these Galileans were greater sinners than all the other Galileans because they have suffered in this way?
3I tell you, No; but unless you repent ([a]change your mind for the better and heartily amend your ways, with abhorrence of your past sins), you will all likewise perish and be lost [b]eternally.

People who asks these types of questions know nothing of God or seem to care to, they lack the understanding in the natural order of things. They just blame Him for everything. I don't mean any disrespect but it is what it is and I'm tired of people blaming God for everything. It hurts because I love him so deeply. People need to start putting aside their pride and huge egos and thinking
that they know whats best for themselves and start living for God
You wonder why bad things happen. Stop all abortions. Stop all mercy killings. stop living homosexual lifestyles thinking that it is a freedom. Stop all the impurities of sex. Stop same sex marriages. Stop all the drug use. Stop using birth control. The very moral fabric of your great country is heading into a darkness
of such man has never seen and you wonder why planes blow up into buildings and in gang warfare and this catastrophe and that catastrophe. In God we Trust? Death stalks and so that's what you have but there is still time to repair and to repent. Pray,Pray, Pray

Notice this,,, most if not all the children in the group setting who lost their lives were killed because they refused to denounce---deny, Jesus as a a life form they believed in and trusted. Not in the news coverage but research it and you will find this is true. When you have done the research then you can answer your own quetion cuz you are a smart cookie.

I suppose he was at the same place he was during the Holocaust, the Black Plague, both World Wars and 9/11.
Honestly, I'd be more comfortable if we had a deity that is just not paying any attention to all this horrible stuff that's going on in the world, than a deity who's looking down on everything right now and deliberately not doing anything about it.

we exist in a world of mutual responsibilty where man and God CO-CREATE reality. if someone does something good, they usually claim full responsibility 4 it. if the same person does somethin less chivalrous, he/she will find someone/thing to share responsibilty.
God was universally present as always, but we (humans) act freely and these are unfortunately some of the consequences.

He saw what happened. The kids will be treated right for what they went through. They were innocent victims born in Satan's violent world.
And God will bring justice to the victimizers.
