Why didn't Noah smack the two mosquitoes on the ark?

Ok, lets step out of the box from man made traditions for a minute and into the thinker.. It seems that most are unable to create traditions or memories without continuing in the history of manmade celebrations that actually originated from the counterfeiter (paganism)...

Roman Catholic church ring a bell? Because that's where most of the traditions came from... You can try your hardest to take the pagan out of the pagan but it wont work unless they are touched and changed . Not by catering to their traditions and merely changing the name and calling it good ! I bet they laugh and are actually empowered even more when we give presidence to their
ways.....

Does anyone out there think it's time to emulate who the believers really are and what we posess? Or is it too hard to see things for what they really are and go beyond the confines of paganism?
Christmas and Easter also....

I am NOT a Johovah's Witness just a seer and a free thinker! Fun is good but living in a box is not!

Its something that has come up quite a lot today.
A young and inexperienced athiest goes out and asks the big question: "Why do you believe in god if you can't see him" ....

... And en masse, the christians all start counter-asking about seeing the air or your heart or some historic figure... or metaphysical concepts.... as if somehow the fact that you cannot see these things justifies their belief.

Firstly, I'd like to note that in MOST of those cases, regardless of one not being able to 'see' the things in question, they can be experienced... and measured with objective instruments.

Secondly, and more importantly... why is not being able to experience something justification for believing IN FAVOUR of it rather than against it?
Naturally, I see things exactly the opposite way.... I will tend to disbelieve things if I cannot experience them nor reason them... EVEN if most other people believe in them. This includes many subatomic particles and until recently black holes.

Last night being Halloween was such a strange and beautiful night for me. I thought of all of you. Spooky on the couch watching horror movies with her kids. I envisioned A delphic staring at the sky with her daughter at her side. I thought of jp and the passion of his, or her words. Paganangel, and all of her beautiful comments, and those are just to name a few. I thought of all of you as I stared into the flickering candle with Mazzy Starr playing on the stereo. Some people on this forum have suggested that we are insignificant to one another. If that is the case then why do we come here. Last night I wanted to drown myself in the feelings that came over me. I felt all of you were there with me why? Am i pathetic, and strange enough to think that we do affect one another? Just wondering . I wish you well

I'm so tired of the argument "The Theory of Gravity is a Theory and Evolution is a Theory so Christians must not believe in gravity." Honestly, get over yourself. Christians observe and use the theory of gravity. It's an observable everyday thing.

Do people not understand that theres a difference in the certainty between these two theories or do they just blindly follow whatever biased textbook they read?

Think about it. What is more firm? Something we can repeat and study here and now or something that we pieced together from intuition?

Don't be so alarmed that Christians are using their minds to question the mindless propaganda being shoved down everyone's throat about evolution.

"But, but, but... anti-anti-bacterias..."

Trash. Surely any intelligent person will tell you the difference between an ape becoming human and a single-celled organism gaining immunity. It's still basically the same organism. The human genome has changed plenty of combat outside attack.

Is it murder if your ordered to do it? Isn't it self protection since mainly the duty of a soldier is to keep two religious groups from killing each other?

John 7:16 -
” 16 Jesus, in turn, answered them and said: “What I teach is not mine, but belongs to him that sent me"

If Jesus is the Almighty God, all the teachings should be his also, even if he left his heavenly life temporarily. But since Jesus is the Son of God, not equal with the Father, therefore he can said the text stated above. Remember teachings ARE NOT a person's attributes.

Neuroscience research tells us that The mind & the brain are responsible for all our experiences.
When you look at any object what you see is not the actual object but the
brains perception & interpretation of how that object looks.
All religions & spiritual phenomena including the concept & experience of a God are generated by the brain.

When you die and wakeup from the Grave, and find Angels all with you, and you were ordered to Hell, what will you say, "Please take us back to Earth and we will worship God?" Remember they will never take you back to Earth... You have no bribe to give them, in this case what is your backup?

NB: I am a Muslim!

Jesus said heaven and earth shall pass but my word will never pass away-why not believe Jesus-can you prove God isnt smart or powerfull enough to create the universe in 6 days?? your eternal life in heaven or hell gnashing teeth forever is determined by believing God or rejecting His word

Jesus saith, the one that rejecteth my words, the same shall be judged by them in the last day."

Jesus says even about rejecting the bible and 6 days of creation-"Except you repent, and be born again, you can not see the kingdom of heaven." John 3

can God do what He had Moses say He did??? well

jesus gave testimonies in the americas. unless i have realy read into this wrong, and all the answerrs i have gotten have been wrong, doesnt this tell of the second coming? i mean, the next time god (because god is jesus) comes to earth, shouldnt all the christians disapeqar to heaven for the rapture? so if jesus did come to earth and visit america, then i shouldnt be here, yet i am, and if the mormons consider themselves christian, shouldnt they be gone too? unless he did come back and the bible really meant to say his 3rd coming? but i dont think god makes mistakes.

Are Christians and Muslims the only people who claim that all those people who are not affiliated with their religion or do not believe in Christ or Allah respectively will go to hell, or are their other religions which make the same claim?
I have heard of no other religion making such a claim, even the Jews do not say those who are not jews will go to hell.

In 2002 the religious right of Cobb County, Georgia voted in favor of placing stickers in public school science books in order to cast doubt on the theory of evolution in favor of their religious conviction. Luckily this was ruled unconstitunional in 2005 and overturned.

My question is: How would christians feel if the government passed a law that required that every bible had a warning sticker inside that read something like this: "Ideas contained in this book have little to no evidence to support them. Most of the stories have been adapted from earlier religious beliefs. This book should be read with an open and critical mind."?

Somehow this seems more justified than the schoolbook stickers of Cobb County, GA.... Your thoughts?
