I think the extreme answers get the thumbs down (on both ends) But I think Y!A consists of mostly extremists and argue about different ends of the spectrum on ideas that they have claim facts when the whole idea of God or the non-existence of God is purely an opinion. Most people won't know if they're right or wrong until they die.

Typically, thumbs down ratings come for one of two reasons:
1. People disagree with you.
2. Your answer is stupid/offensive/wrong
Atheists get thumbs down all the time for #1. Theists get thumbs down for #1 AND #2, because typically, they are woefully uninformed about the subject they're attempting to answer on....

Why do you forget on the subject of the multiple thumbs down on non professional Christian solutions? possibly you're being somewhat one sided on your generalization. many people use the thumbs as a "vote casting" mechanism to help their theory device. Edit: To be completely straightforward, i attempt to evaluate solutions on the belief placed into them besides using fact the quantity of information it incredibly is shown. some Christians answer nicely, many others seem to be thoroughly clueless. Edit 2: working occasion, a thumbs down for me already, want I say extra?

I think it is a bit of a deliberate targeting.
A lot of people accuse YA's religious posters of having hermetically sealed minds. And while there is certainly not a shortage of closed minded religious folk at YA, frankly I think the atheists may have us outpaced where zealotry and dogmatism are concerned. At least some of the religious answerers have nuance and evenhandedness, such as steph w and muslimah. But fair minded atheists have been.... well... rare, I'd say. That fellow with the skull-faced avatar. 'Bout it.

hehehe! Fundy Christians just LOVE to imagine themselves "persecuted" by the evil heathens. it makes their day to imagine that they're "suffering" for their Lord.
fact is ... i get often thumbs down from Christians for stating facts they don't like, facts that don't concur with Bible mythology. Fundy Christians post some of the nastiest "questions" about nonChristians and yet manage to feel they're being unfairly attacked. if i were a "real" Christian i'd distance myself as far as i could from the blind and stupid Fundy variety. maybe even devise a lable other than "Christian" since that lable has been usurped and corrupted by a bunch of whining self absorbed self serving hypocrites.

I suggest you try to open your eyes cause you are only seeing what you want to see. I am Atheist and I get lots of thumbs down ratings just for saying I'm an Atheist. Some Christians give us thumbs down ratings so some Atheist do the same. I don't pay attention to the ratings I get it don't bother me.

I ask the same question. I worded my question somewhat differently. Then I decided this isn't the end of it by by any means. We will see each other sister with lots of others
around the throne of heaven. Beside seeing Jesus who made it possible for us to be there, our loved ones and endless sisters and brothers we never met on earth. Jesus told us that just as He wasn,t liked so we should't expect the unbelieving world to like us.

I've seen Atheists get thumbs down a lot. It depends on the question. I've seen every atheist answer with at least one thumb down on one question. It's like, a Christian goes down the line, reads them and thumbs-down any answer they don't agree with.

AMEN, SISTER! You're right this world has lost it's perspective in the pursuit of instant gratification and sensual pleasures. I'm glad you haven't. God bless!
