because christians believe thier way is the right way and anyone who doesnt believe exactly as they do is scum. In the words of Jerry Falwell: If you arent christian you arent human.

I'm an Atheist, and I can't lump all Christians in one lump category. Some of them take "spreading the word" way too far, and because downright rude and harassing. However, there are many Christians out there (and here) that don't act hostile.
I also know of many other religions and non-believers (like myself) that tend to become hostile as well.
I think it's the fact that they don't understand how people can see things other ways. They don't understand that all people are different, that not everyone thinks the same way they do, and that every person (even the same religion) will have different views on how to practice what they believe.
I think everyone should just respect the fact that people are going to have different answers to different questions, and that everyone makes their own decisions. Respect people's right to believe what they want, and let it go.

Actually the question should be, Why do all other religions always act hostile towards Christians? I have not seen any questions on here from Christians constantly bashing atheists,or Muslims, or anybody else. Yes we are to go and make disciples, but I personally never push myself on anybody. Why are so many atheist in the religion section when they dont believe in it?There really could be only one answer, and that would be to provoke or put down other religions. If you spent even half the energy studying the Bible or other resources on religion that you do on here making false statements then you would at least have some knowledge of what you are talking about.

This is a VERY GOOD question, but not all Christians are like this as Jesus said to love their neighbour, however Christianity is existent so consequently other relegiions who do not accept Jesus to be God's son and lord and saviour as the wrong path, but some believe that God wil not the good non Christians on the rapture and that good Muslims and definately good Jews will be in the favour of God because like Vhristians they were only following their beliefs, these are the closest to Christianity anyway

Rufi - you apparently missed the many, many comments under this forum yesterday from Christians condemning pagans, wiccans, and anyone who doesn't believe that the Christian God is the only God and that if you don't believe that Jesus is the way you're a freak. I responded to one Christian who literally called us "freaks" in his question. I have also had more than one Christian insist that my pentagram is a symbol of Satan, even after my many calm, repeated attempts to try to explain that no, it is many things, none of which have anything to do with Satan - an entity I don't believe in. But, since they're Christian, they apparently know more about my spiritual path than I do.
Some Christians are simply unable to accept that people believe differently than they do, and while they make "think" non-believers are going to Hell, it is not their place to save people who politely say, "Thank you, I respect your beliefs, I do not share them." I actually was stuck in line behind a man at a video store a few months ago who was trying desperately to convert the Indian gentleman working the cash register, who kept trying to very politely explain that he was Hindu and respected the man's beliefs and was glad that he had them, while the Christian kept going on and on about Hell and God and accepting Jesus being the only way for his sins to be forgiven. Meanwhile the poor clerk was at work and had no way to escape this man. So believe me, there are lots of Christians out there who are extremely disrespectful of other belief systems.
Please be aware that my uncle is a retired Methodist minister and my mother was a church secretary for two decades, so I do know more than a little about Christianity, and I don't say this with any hostility. I don't know why some Christians are this way, but I'm still deeply in the broom closet with my family because I'm sure my dad would flip and think I'd gone off my rocker if he knew I thought Jesus was okay, but he's not "the way" for me.

If someone were to declare, operating example, that Christianity means that the solar revolves around the earth or that men and dinosaurs lived contemporaneously, i assume those are certain claims which may be evaluated (and rejected) scientifically. (i'd challenge even if the guy making such claims quite understood Jesus's message.) in spite of the indisputable fact that, what I evaluate to be the established concepts of Christianity, operating example, that God exists, and that Jesus rose from the useless, at the instantaneous are not clinical claims in any respect, and there's no suitable clinical evidence to think about. No attempt or fossil can settle such questions definitively. those are, in spite of the indisputable fact that, questions of actuality (both they are authentic or faux), and there is evidence of a distinct type which may be further to undergo. archives and testimony, operating example, are many times considered as evidence in trials; the position there's no clinical evidence one way or the different, human beings typically choose questions by technique of weighing the credibility of archives and testimony. contained almost about Christianity, what do you're making of the Gospels? Do the charges sound actual? Did the authors stand to achieve capacity or social status for his or her claims, or did they struggle through for them? also, we count number own adventure or statement as "evidence" in determining daily whom to believe, which highway seems safer or swifter, even if it really is time to confirm a clinical specialist, or perhaps if we'd want to continually take that new activity in yet another city or stay placed. there is evidence to think about in each and each and every of those circumstances, yet lots of the time it isn't clinical. contained almost about Christianity (or more effective frequently, the existence of God), what do you're making of your capacity to adventure issues, to be wakeful? Does it appear like something that would want to be created or developed from in basic terms actual issues or does it have a supernatural source? possibly the body finally got here from stardust, yet did the soul (as you adventure it)? Assuming sufficiently futuristic technologies, how would one construct a soul, and exhibit fulfillment in that project? this kind of evidence received't lead everyone to an same conclusions. even with the actuality that, i have laid out my personal own motives in some element on my blog, and in case you'll locate them efficient, experience free to envision out the links decrease than. Have a good evening, and peace be with you.

The same can be said about members of any and all religious people. Have you ever heard of Muslims knocking Judism ?Right here on Yahoo answers there are many nasty cracks directed at Christians. I guess that's just human nature.

Because other religions contradict them... and are outsiders.
Of course when christianity contradicts itself.... it tends to divide. You'll get half the people accepting one bit and rejecting the other... and vice versa... and then they start fighting amongst themselves. Its all quite silly really.
But there are some things the whole of christianity believes that other religions and whatnot don't.... a lot of things..... and thats when the christians break out the pamphlets (when once upon a time they would have drawn their swords) and get hostile.

Some of it is human nature. You will find that many people are afraid of anyone who is different.
Having said that, Jesus did say that he was the only way into Heaven. If you take that literally, then any other religion is a dangerous distraction that draws you away from the true path and puts your soul into danger of going to Hell. If they care about you, then they are going to be nervous that you are following a path that will lead you away from God without you even realizing what is happening to you.

I can only answer for myself. I don't. I do get aggravated when someone flames me just because I am a Christian, or tries to flame Christ by making remarks that are ugly about Him. Over all, however I do think I present myself with respect to everyone. I do say other religions are false, but I don't say it out of hostility, but out of concern to whomever it is who adheres to it.
I got into trouble a few weeks ago, my FIL started going to a Mormon church, my husband commented that he was proud of it, and I (being the one) had to open my mouth out against it, I told him I was proud that his dad was and could quit a lot of the stuff he does, but I cannot be proud o'er the fact that he was following something false. I said so out of concern for my FIL, not because I just wanted to be a witch (b)
