People who deny evolution are really fooling themselves by thinking they are just being skeptical. The evidence for evolution is overwhelming. And the idea that it's "mindless propaganda", as you put it, is ridiculous. Do you really think the vast majority of scientists in the world are conspiring to convince people of a completely false theory. Science doesn't work that way. Scientists don't believe in evolution because they want to, or because they have an agenda. They believe in evolution because the evidence supports it. On the other hand, the deniers of evolution always have an agenda. It's not a coincidence that every time you hear someone arguing against evolution they turn out to be a christian. If evolution is false, and the evidence supporting it is concocted, wouldn't someone other than fundamentalist Christians have noticed this. Anyone, christian or otherwise, who could conclusively disprove evolution would instantly become the most famous scientist alive! Where is the evidence?

It seems that right-wing whacko Christianity is bleeding it's new "victimization" methodology onto the moderate, conservative Christian community. Oh how the Christians now love to play the "OH, WE ARE SO OPPRESSED!!!" card.
Seriously - nobody cares what you believe, Snookiedimples. You wanna believe in an invisible, imaginary friend called "Jesus" - you go right ahead!
Where I have a problem is when you try to foist your fantasies off as "Science" or of equal scientific worth as the results of true scientific endeavor. It's just as annoying as when someone with ONLY scientific leanings tries to justify something as "Spiritual".
There's a darn good reason why the Founding Fathers made a point of separation of Church from State. You cannot legislate morality, you should not try to legislate spirituality.
You should not also, however, force your religious claptrap on the unwilling via stupid Christocentric legislation.

When people say that gravity is also a theory, the point they're making is that the word theory, in a scientific context, doesn't imply uncertainty. Everything science tells us is true is a theory. Evolution is only a theory in the scientific sense because it has been observed and there is no evidence against it.

I'm sorry but that single celled organism gaining immunity-you're conceding that a mechanism for adaptation and evolutionary change exists in nature-well explain why it doesn't also apply to larger species. Your argument is proof-you don't know what evolution is, you don't have any insight into the evidence supporting it or the issues involved-it's a fact beyond dispute and that isn't propaganda. Deal with it.

You accuse us of blindly following a text book. Pot calling the kettle black.
If people really wanted answers on evolution and genomes, they wouldn't ask it in the religion section, they would ask a scientist. So anytime it is asked about in this section it is not to get real answers, it is meant as an attack, as in your question.

this is my favorite motto from a Buddhist monk:
Do not believe something simply because you have heard it. Do not believe anything simply because it has been handed down for many generations. Do not believe anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe anything simply because it is written in Holy Scriptures. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of teachers, elders, or wise men. Believe only after careful observation and analysis, when you find that it agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all. Then accept it, and live up to it.
~The Buddha~
another favorite of mine:
Think for yourself and question authority Timothy Leary

You see you are simply completely wrong. The theory of Gravitation has undergone many more changes in the last 100 years than Evolutionary theory, but then what would I expect from the faith based community.

33% of the world are Christians, only 16% are atheist ( that number also includes people who are unsure) Are you saying that only 16% of the world is intelligent? Aren't you curious about what great power is causing 33% of the world to believe in Jesus? I'm intelligent and I would definitely want to know what is causing thousands a day to convert to believing in Jesus. I wouldn't want to just cross my arms and stand among 16% who put their faith in Scientist, who are human beings that are capable of making mistakes. It almost sounds that you worship them.

you didn't explain yourself in that statement at all your randomly balbering on about the theory of gravity and Christians but yet you did not even mention religion if your talking about god its faith its something you feel and can tell and god still loves you if you don't believe but seriously explain yourself that had to me one of the dumbest rants I've ever read none of it had relevance.
