My uncle told me once that everyone has 2 guardian angels and now according to this website that answers your questions about the bible says that it does not say anywhere in the bible that we all have guardian angels. There are angels and they might be sent to us if we need them but other than that there are no angels watching over us all the time. What about children? I thought they at least would have guardian angels. So what gives?

I hate that word! People don't understand. A religion is defined as a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe, esp. when considered as the creation of a superhuman agency or agencies, usually involving devotional and ritual observances, and often containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs.

This sound like a club or organization! Christianity is the relationship with God. Without all of the dumb rules and crap, It comes down to a relationship between God and his children. I hope you understand what i am saying..

After considering the above, anyone else hate the word religion?

Since being on this forum, I have recently picked up the bible again. Why because I needed to know if the way I perceived the bible to be as a child, had changed for me as an adult. It didnt.
I still saw the same message holding true in any religious faith.
But what did surprise me was this.
If there are scriptures in the bible that state
Man will be persecuted for his beliefs, and deemed evil in my name, my name being god. I wondered what does this mean?
Did the bible only apply to christians as christians would suggest?
If it did that would make sense, because maybe the bible was a book created to demolish the hypocricy of man, and in it's place love, and acceptance, so that you may know god.
Now I do not see the athesists calling man evil. I do not see pagans, or wiccans, or buddhists, scientologists, and of course Icould go on. BUt what I do see is the "Christians stating this, and judging in the name of god. So if hell exists will it be the christians burning?

Which were them? What happened ultimately?

In my case, my heart responds to one (Islam) and my brain to another one (Buddhism), and I am feeling kind of torn apart. The one with which I was born (Catholic) never moved me.

I guess that's what happens when you start reading too much, huh? Anycase, I shall be grateful for any experience you want to share with me.

The earliest certain observance of a feast in honor of all the saints is an early fourth-century commemoration of "all the martyrs." In the early seventh century, after successive waves of invaders plundered the catacombs, Pope Boniface IV gathered up some 28 wagonloads of bones and reinterred them beneath the Pantheon, a Roman temple dedicated to all the gods. The pope rededicated the shrine as a Christian church. According to Venerable Bede, the pope intended "that the memory of all the saints might in the future be honored in the place which had formerly been dedicated to the worship not of gods but of demons

My girlfriend's dad is a Mormon and comes from a lineage of Mormons going back several generations. I am a little apprehensive about asking him too many questions about his religion because I don't want to get wrapped up in a religious discussion with him without knowing a little more about his beliefs. Also, I'm interested in knowing more about their beliefs and customs so that I don't accidentally do or say anything offensive when I am in his home. Can anyone give me a quick rundown on what I might need to know about the Mormons in order better understand the background of my girlfriend's family? By the way....although she was raised in this family, my girlfriend is not a practicing Mormon. I know very little about Mormons and simply wish to gain a little knowledge in order to practice good "etiquett" when interacting with her father. Thanks for any info you guys can help me with.

I need Bible passages on the importance of forgiving others and asking for forgiveness to those you've wronged. My friend's BF is being a total jerk (he was the one who wronged her) and is not behaving like a "good Catholic boy" so I need some passages to throw in his face. ( I am not Christian which is why I am asking for help). Thanks in advance.

There are demons just like there are angels. The bible does talk about angels and demons help the devil. How can you believe in God without believing in angels and if you believe theres a God then you have to believe theres a devil, and how can you believe theres a devil without demons? I'm not talking about those freaky demons from scary movies, but they are here.

I just read her story. It looked so familiar, it broke my heart. I certainly didn't look like Jessica Alba, but I too was made to feel ashamed of having some curves as a teenage Christian girl.

John 14vs 9 "He that hath seen me hath seen the father"

someone said to this-if they believe a man named Mohamed that married a 9 year old little girl Aisha-they will twist anything to make it all right for their religion.

I dont know-i Know many muslims that have repented and let Jesus into their heart as savior and friend-as he commands -John 3 and Revelation 1:1&3:19&20-He loves each of us and knocks on our heart to come in deliver from sin and be our savior and friend, if we repent of even telling one lie or any sins, and ask him in."

-just like I have as a Jew-its grand-have the nicest day and peace be upon you

Why do believers always credit God with something instead of giving themselves a pat on the back for obtaining it themselves?

I know SO MANY people that say "It's because of God and pray that I got that promotion!" or "I want to thank for this Music Award!"

It's your own hard work that got you your work promotion, putting in the extra hours etc.

It's your own hard work that gets you anywhere in life, why don't you take credit for excelling your own life instead of giving it to him?
