I understand what you are saying. That is a powerful statement and I like seeing you think this boldly. But watch out, the bees are about to swarm!!!

Interesting question that I am sure will bring you many and varying answers.
I've personally come to understand that what you believe will not only directly impact where you will go post mortem but will also directly impact how you conduct your life in the now. Consequently, if you believe that man is evil in the name of god, then that will be the construct upon which you conduct your life and your actions. The end result, determined by those actions, will either result in a one way ticket to heaven or hell. This is completely dependent on what you "think & feel" you deserve.
Given that we are the creators of our own reality, it is highly important that we don't sleep-walk through life. It is necessary to examine what we do & believe, and how we think and feel about what we do & believe. Or as Socrates stated, "The unexamined life is not worth living."
You have taken that step by examining this biblical statement from your perspective as a child and in the now as an adult. Keep questioning. Everything. By doing so, you will be like the sculptor looking at a beautiful piece of marble while "imagining" the figure hidden within. You will chip away at the marble, bit by bit, piece by piece, until that beautiful figure is revealed.

I'm not certain I get the question.
The bible doesn't "only apply to Christians." It is for everyone. Remember the Old Testament was specifically written for the Jewish people.
When Jesus states that believers will be persecuted, it seems to me that you're taking it out of context.
The entire context is that Jesus is the light. The world loves darkness. So believers will be persecuted because they believe in him.
For instance our Atheists friends calling us names because we believe. This is specifically what Jesus spoke of.
As for the hypocrisy of Christians calling humanity evil, well, we have gone down the toilet. War, famine, cruelty. All of this could be ended.
As a Christian, I don't see the Atheists, Buddhists, Hindus, Pagans, Wiccans or Scientologists taking steps to end world hunger, war, child abuse, factory farming, immigrant abuse.
Only the Christians do these things because only the Christians see it as evil.
Everyone else just thinks it's natural for the world to go down the toilet.
I hope that helps. Sorry if I've totally misunderstood you.

Glad to see that you are approaching this with an open mind. This is an excellent question and you raise some good points that I'd like to address. This topic is so extremely important to life that I encourage you to continue seeking answers.
Let's start with this - man is sinful. I think we can both accept that the hearts of all are corrupt when compared to a perfect God. Have you ever lied? Even once? Ever looked on someone with lust? Ever stolen anything or cheated? Ever been jealous of another's possessions? Personally, a lot of my wrong actions and bad choices boil down to selfishness in my own heart. When we really examine our hearts, we find that they are corrupt and that we need God.
So how do we deal with this? We must be made right with God. The bible tells us how to do this - Christ died for our sins so we must repent and give our lives to Him.
Now that said, I think that anyone can be persecuted. There is much persecution in Africa right now but not all are Christian.
No one should judge but God. While I think some Christians do judge, do not interpret Christians repeating the message of Christ as them judging. The bible is the word of God given to the prophets. It wasn't created to "demolish" anything - it is the law given to us by the Creator.
I did not create the rules, I am just passing the message. A disagreement with Christians is really just a disagreement with Christ.
I hope that makes sense. I'd by happy to discuss further.

this is very profound and I like it alot. however sciene crossed with psychology shows man is evil (or bad) in nature and it takes something, God, self control, self pity whatever to control those urges, or angers. Example would be an electrical current given two directions will always follow the easiest path. In life being that you are you and in the grand scheme of things you have to live with yourself and your decisions; the easiest answer is always to decide what is best for you. Obviously this kind of thought would cause destruction and caos so you choose logic and morals to decide. I dont know if this has anything to do with religion and bible but it does raise my interest in your statements.

Why do Christians waste their time right here? From what i've got seen, maximum of them think of they comprehend each and every little thing already. sure, so do a lot of atheists overestimate their understanding, yet i think of that on the full, you will locate so lots greater atheists admitting that there is something in this universe that they don't comprehend. that's a mark of satisfaction for Christians to talk with great self belief and faith. it would be an insult to their faith to no longer gain this. I "waste" my time right here by using fact, as a spiritually minded individual, the subject of religion hobbies me and likewise, the ghastly ideals of a few believers is a in no way-ending source of amazement and leisure. So there you have it. Christian Purity claims that that's "by using fact they secretly have faith deep down or by using fact they are jealous of our ideals." do no longer flatter your self, dearie. it somewhat is the variety of stupid theory that I propose once I talk of amazement and leisure. Atheists not greater secretly have faith in God than somebody who says "Holy Cow" is secretly a Hindu.

No only unbelivers will burn in hell. But those who hadn't heard or accepted the gospel will have a chance to except the word of god before it is too late.I don't remember that saying in the bible and i had read the bible many times. The bible is the holy word but I don't think it says that.

I'm not sure which verse your quoting , but its similar to this one at John 15; 18"(Y)If the world hates you, you know that it has hated Me before it hated you.
19"If you were of the world, the world would love its own; but because you are not of the world, but (Z)I chose you out of the world, (AA)because of this the world hates you.
20"Remember the word that I said to you, '(AB)A slave is not greater than his master ' If they persecuted Me, (AC)they will also persecute you; if they (AD)kept My word, they will keep yours also.
21"But all these things they will do to you (AE)for My name's sake, (AF)because they do not know the One who sent Me.
22"(AG)If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin.
23"He who hates Me hates My Father also.
24"(AH)If I had not done among them (AI)the works which no one else did, they would not have sin; but now they have both seen and hated Me and My Father as well.
25"But they have done this to fulfill the word that is written in their (AJ)Law, '(AK)THEY HATED ME WITHOUT A CAUSE
The early Christians were hated and killed. Things changed when Constantine made them the state religion of the roman empire. After that event, The Church itself began persecuting others, such as pagans , jews, muslims, and heretics ( any christian who didn't beleive in their doctrine.)
Please , do not judge all Christians for what the majority have done. Jesus said his followers would love even their enemies and have love among themselves. That leaves out any christian who goes to war or hurts others. Then examine the religions which people talk bad about. That is a form of persecution too. Remember the OUr Father prayer and see who actually is following that model. Matthew 5; 9 - 13
