You are correct on all of this. Most religions through history were formed by copying form other religions. The most famous one is when the roman empire copied the Greek mythology. Christian religion has sampled more than P. Diddy.

While I am not familiar with some of your stories, I think you better check out the Hercules mythology. His mother was not a virgin, but was seduced by one of the gods. Hercules was half-god and half-human. But it was a physical sex act.
In any case, the stories are there. God is eternal and his attributes known to man since Adam and Eve. How does a prophet know the future? I believe, and let's face it.... there's no proof one way or the other .... that ancient man had a view of what God was and would do... and so tried to imitate.
If you want to start an argument, don't look here. But if you want to know the TRUTH ... if you seek the TRUTH.... look from down on your knees in prayer. GOD will answer you much better than anyone on a discussion board.
God Bless,
Sue

RT,
It is your choice to believe, what-ever it is you'd like to believe.
No matter what you say or come up with...You won't be able to steal my faith and belief that God sent His Son (Jesus) so that I may have eternal life with my Father in Heaven.
I have seen with my own eyes: answered prayers and "unexplained happenings" (miracles) and watch God move in my life, the lives of family members as well as friends and many, many others. I have felt His presents and believe the Holy Bible is 100% the Word of God.
I have a strong and unshakable faith in God the Father, Jesus-His Son and the power in the Holy Spirit.
Where does your path lead?

I know most christians will be upset with me, but I must say I feel that my path is the "greater" one. I am an Asatruar. We are at least taught Honour! We are also not threatened with horrible suffering if we don't agree with each other. God of 'love' my shiney white!
I will also add that we respect your choice to follow whichever god you wish to follow and would never dream of calling it 'false'. If all religions taught the same thing - respect the choice - the world would be a better place.

Points to the guy above her ^^. Thank you for proving my religion is true. Christians ran all over Scandinavia and tortured us for refusing to convert. Would you put up with having a snake shoved down your throat for something that wasn't true?

If none of Christianity is true, then tell me why in the 1st century right after the death of Christ, people were publicly tortured in the most gruesome ways (you can read about their methods - I won't go into them here) by the Romans for claiming that Jesus was God and they had seen Him rise from death?
It just doesn't make any sense. Would you lie about something even if sticking to that lie meant you would be crucified? I doubt it.

That is the same thing that made it so hard for CS Lewis to accept Christianity as a valid religion. You are in good company.
Myth is the metaphor of the spirit. The superman who became flesh captivates the soul of man, but to dare to believe it, is not madness!

To people who look for reasons to continue to deny the love and mercy of the one true God, and salvation thru His Son, Jesus, yes it probably does.
Would you, for a moment, consider this: if you wanted to deceive and distract someone, what would YOU do to achieve this? Would you create just such a string of info-bits?
If you claim, all along, that there's no positive physical proof of God's existence, why would you pretend to foist some loosely threaded "proof" of non-existence?
Just curious.

Isn't it amazing how we humans come up with the same stories! Does that mean there is some Truth in it, or that we just answer the unanswerable by the same story.
