...will you float before you hit the bottom? I asked a question the other day to spark some dialogue - about heaven and hell - a lot of the answers I received said that people were not worried about hell because they did not believe in it, thus, it does not exist. If I don't believe that Australia is there does that mean that people in Sydney do not have to show up for work? (Just kidding on that last one!!)

How come a pacifist religion like Budhism can have a subset of followers who are happy to fight and kill?

Is there some clause to the religion that says violence is acceptable under certain circumstances?

There are some regular visitors who look obsessed with insulting some categories of people, mainly based on religion. Someone is targeting the Christians, someone else the Muslims. Personally I imagine them as little ugly men who failed to achieve anything in life, be it at school, in the work, in personal relationships, no wife, no girlfriend, and seek revenge by insulting others while hidden behind a nickname and a computer screen. Sad, isn't it? Anyway, better like that than becoming serial killers! Thanks to Yahoo for giving them this opportunity.
PS maybe I should have posted my question in the Psychology section

that sin pollutes our minds, affects our freedom, affects our desires. Please think of how your life is affected by sin, and your need for forgiveness, for this is truly man's greatest need. The wonderful thing is, that we can all be forgiven by God.

but if you seek God and come to Him in repentance,
then he whom the Son sets free, will be free indeed.

"The Athiests Nightmare"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nfv-Qn1M58I

Personally, as an atheist, I thought at first this was a parody on creationism, and found hit quite funny. Then when I found it was serious, I found it all the more hilarious. What do you think of these guys in the video? Do you understand why an atheist would find it funny? And do any of you christians find it amusing?
Take your time and watch the video if you havent seen it already, |I will read all answers.
thankyou.

There were once huge celebrations at this time of the year and followers of earth based religions still hold it sacred. Do you think that Christmas will one day be treated by the general public as just another excuse for candy or will we always hold it sacred?

Doesn't it seem that God can forgive the past and look at a persons heart and intention? Why do we choose to dwell only on the past?

All kidding aside, I do appreciate your help in this experiment. (Hey, even us atheists like to reaffirm our faith!) Keep praying for me, and remember, this is Christian day... if this goes poorly I will have a separate day for the rest of the world's religions.

Sin is not just the problem of society; it is also the problem of the individual. For we have all sinned and fallen short of God's standard.

Sin is a very real problem. It has always been the major problems facing society, and thousands of years and scientific progress have not changed the situation. It is man's selfishness and greed that cause many to be hungry, produce broken homes and create a drug problem. Every known social problem can be traced back to the fact tht man in his sin has rejected God's way.

She was Catholic, but not practicising, beforehand. Now she seems quite devoted to the Bahai faith. I'm curious about it but dont want to question her about it as when I do she's not very good at explaining it. She seems to be a much more settled and content person since being involved in this religion so I'm not concerned, just curious.

muslim women are treated like a human being, and my mom is treated like a queen at my home.
how about yours? take a look at some of your yahoo questions:

the only different you never mention a christian/jew man did it. but you will be so excited to say "a muslim man did it". that's how unfair the world is. Islam, this beautiful religion protects our rights and our women. leave Islam alone, we already know its the true word from our lord.
