...will you float before you hit the bottom? I asked a question the other day to spark some dialogue - about heaven and hell - a lot of the answers I received said that people were not worried about hell because they did not believe in it, thus, it does not exist. If I don't believe that Australia is there does that mean that people in Sydney do not have to show up for work? (Just kidding on that last one!!)

You'll probably be dead before you hit the ground. The force while falling will push all the air from your lungs. But you will definitely go splat.

Your question shows the big difference between religion and science. Religion asks its believers to take things on faith. Science demands testable, repeatable results before a theory is accepted as fact. If you line up 10 true believers, and they jumped off the building, believing that their god will save them from death, how many would live? Even if they were 10 popes, or 10 imams, or buddhas or archbishops?
I have seen no proof that heaven or hell exist. However, gravity has a way of intruding on my life every single moment.
And you there in Sydney - sorry, but you have to put the beer back in the fridge, finish shaving, and get to work!

Good analogy. Kind of like 'if a tree falls in a forest, and no one is there to hear it, does it still make a sound?'. I like yours better though! Very thought provoking.
If heaven and hell are both real places (I believe they are) it doesn't matter whether you believe they are or not, you will go to one or the other. People have a problem believing in things they currently can't see, I guess.
The answer is no, by the way. Laws of gravity would kick in and you would hit the ground just as hard as someone who believed in hitting the ground. lol!

p.s. Love the Sydney thing!

Splat.
The reason that people will not go to hell is that hell does not exist. Even if everyone on the Earth believed that hell exists, it would not exist - believing something does not make it true. There's no hell, no heaven, no God, no Satan, no souls, no minds.

Wow that would be a really good point if we couldn't prove that Australia exists and sky scrapers are launching pads for those intent on suicide by gravity. Try again little sheep.

The best trick the devil ever played on mankind is to make them beieve he does not exist. Have a look around u, he is all around. As for the building never mind, you only have a few seconds to think about it anyway.

If you don't believe you will hit the ground, then I believe you will find out that you are deceived, when it is too late. Kind of like judgment.
