I'm an agnostic, but I cannot ignore the fact that all major world religions (or most of the ancient ones anyway) seem to have one major message at their heart.

Love each other and do unto others as you would have done unto yourself.

Surley that's the whole point and the rest is just what we as human's have added in. If there is a God then surley he would want us to listen to what's at the heart of his holy writtings, instead of all the, go out and kill people parts, or the sexist, racists, ignorant parts...???

Am I really wrong for thinking that religious texts don't actually matter?

christians believe in a part of the bible and reject the other or at least dont work according to it
If the husband dies without impregnating the wife, then the "brother" of the dead husband MUST marry his wife. The female CANNOT marry anyone else, but ONLY her dead husband's brother (DEUTERONOMY 25:5).

In other words, you've had an experience where you feel you've lived before as someone else, BUT, that person is still alive. Cou;d the essence of that person's life have been transferred to you at birth knowing that in the years after that person dies he will live again in you and you will feel you've as him when he was alive? I don't think reincarnation fits in here, does it?

They seem to think ALL American media is anti_Islam,
They either make up the news or slant it or don't report all the good things Islam is doing,

Does that make it conservative media, fox, or liberal media CNN?
Or is it just all controlled by Muslim Arab hating Jews?

American believers: would you vote for an atheist as President?
In a Poll last month of 1,010 adults, majorities said Americans are ready to elect a female (61%), a black (58%) or a Jewish (55%) president, but only 14% would elect an atheist.

Would you accept discrimination against Christians?

Bush is a Christian and he is incompetent and supports creationism, so Christian presidents has killed 10 000 of Iraqis and many thousands of his fellow Americans and undermined the scientific thought the basis of America’s greatness

According to some religions this is true. Anyone know which religions believe in this? Also, its a sin that will keep you out of heaven because only God can take your life as He gave it to you.

Every president of the US has been a white male protestant (except Kennedy - a white male catholic). Atheists and agnostics have consistently had to vote for christian candidates.

Would you, as a believer, vote for an atheist candidate if they had policies you could support on key issues like education, health and security?

If not - why not?
