Do I presently believe in tithing? Yes
If you are broke should the church give you money? That is an issue between you and teh church; hopefully that does not effect a person tithing.

Yes I believe in tithing. I know that in one church imparticular, which is the Mormon Church, tithing goes to many good causes and is not used in a bad way. When a member of their church is in financial trouble, the church, using tithing money, will help the family in need of help. They have big food supplies and manufacturing places where they make food. When that family needs help they can go to these buildings, called the Bishop's storehouse, and get things that they need such as food, toilet paper, etc. This is not meant for long term, however, it is meant to help the family get back on their feet. Their church also can help the family members find jobs and stuff. So, their church does give members of their church money in a way when they need help.

Tithing is something that all Christians should do and yes people that truly have needs, the church should investigate and help if necessary. We do not usually give out money, but if this person is reliable then we will pay some of their bills.

I do believe in tithing and you should tithe on any money you make or are given because GOD commands us to nothing on this planet belongs to you it was all given by GOD and he gave it to you as a gift and tithing is just a matter of respect to him and you will get a harvest / blessing on it. the only amount your called to give is 10 percent anything more is an offering

Tithing in the old days was the thing to do because of what the churches did with the money. They actually helped the community. I think these days that churches are run as businesses and are just out to make money and don't truly care about others. Just my thoughts...

I absolutely believe in tithing and my life has been very blessed because I pay it. And yes, under certain circumstances the church should help you out financially if you are unable to make ends meet on your own (provided you're not wasting your money on gambling, booze, etc.), as is the case with the church I belong to.

should the Church give you money if you are broke? Well that would have to be decided on merit, why are you broke? did you gamble it all away? drink? etc, if you have wasted money on such things then the Church should not feel obliged to give you money, but if you have a genuine need, and you have exhausted all other sources of assistance, then yes it should, and in my Church, it would.

Christians are not bound by the tithe. As it is written: "Each of you must give what you have decided in your heart, not with regret or under compulsion, since God loves a cheerful giver." (II Corinthians 9:7)
Anyone who demands the tithe is acting in legalism. If you tithe, but your heart isn't in it, then your giving doesn't honor God. Give what you can, when you can, and do it as you have decided. You are no longer under law, but grace.
