I think the Pope was wrong but the Templars had become poerful and rich enough to challenge the Popes power. The Templars had in effect created the first international banking system, able to transfer funds by a sort of Monastic postal money order system. No gold had to actually travel. They charged a healthy fee for this service. If the Templars existed still they would be the total International Banking System including the World Bank and in total control of the world economy. The Pope however wiped them all out. They do not exist except in conspiracy fantasy.
both the Knights of Columbus and the Order of Saint John, the Hospitaliers or Knights of Malta if you prefer are all Catholic organizations and sworn enemies of the Knights Templars.

The Knights of Templar is still in operation. Although the Pope publicly disbanded the order on Friday the 13th 1312, they became top secret, and are at the top of the Masonic cult, actually becoming tightly linked to the Jesuit order. These people are in control of the worlds political powers. Groups below them know nothing of them. How do I know? Check out Amazing Discoveries.

None of those. It was a military group, formed to recover Jerusalem. They happened to be 'christians' as christians go, and powerful, some with money and represented a threat to the Roman Pope, beguining with Clement and his First Crusade. Later on, as the power of them consolidated, another group grew with the same purpose and the same objectives: the Hospitalers, which - eventually took them to the loss of Jerusalem and its last Crusade. The Pope fought the Templars (too powerful a threat to the Church) and they dissapeared.

They have made their mark on todays society by at the very least inspiring Freemasons.
The Pope was of course evil to get them murdered but that was a logical decision if you are Catholic, because they had turned away from the Catholic interpretation of the bible and began to have a more Cather outlook

I don't think that they are disbanded today. What are the Knights of Columbus?? I think that they are groups that meet today and do whatever the catholic church wants them to do, but not actually hurt people, sort of a catholic service group..

They're all dead... what's to view? Was the pope right?... nope. If the the knights lived, would they make a difference? I doubt it.
